Hi, I am a 1st year medical student. My mother has a recurrent occurrence of heart attack like symptoms (i.e. a pressure like feeling in her chest, a pain radiating to the neck and the medial side of her arm). It's really so painful that she is pulled to the floor. Once when this occurred the 1st time many years ago, she was taken to the hospital, where they said that there is no problem and she was given a medicine (nebicard) and it gave her relief. And when it occurred again they took an ECG and said there was no problem and this repeated. Afterwards she refused to go to the hospital saying it is of no use and nebicard gives relief, and now it is occurring very frequently and she takes nebicard... Now we used to take her to the hospital but looking at the ECG they say she is ok. I...

I have been on 100mg/day of losartan that I take 1/2 a pill twice a day for 6 months or so. The last 2 months I have experienced heavy heart palpitations, skipping beats etc directly after taking pill. I literally feel like I'm in the middle of a heart attack. Kidneys also hurt directly after taking losartan and urine is very yellow. I recently did not take it for a 3 days and felt much better but I started it up again due to the fear of heart trouble that I am not aware of. All of the above symptoms returned with a vengeance and now I am back to feeling close to death all day long...any suggestions? ## Have you had this checked out by your doctor, yet? There are several issues that could be causing this, according to the NIH. It could be due to medication side effects, it could be ...

Mild heart attack after taking AndroGel. I started taking AndroGel for low testrone levels on Saturday, Sunday right after I used it I felt funny. Monday after using it my chest was hurting, Tuesday after taking it I could not breath, sweating, sick at my stomach and felt like someone was sitting on my chest. Heart attack symptoms called 911 rushed to hospital and had had a mild heart attack. AndroGel the cause don't know but it did save my life. I had a blockage and got a stent put in my heart. Scared to use it anymore. Never know if I would have had a full heart attack or not but it did appear the AndroGel was the cause since it started the second day I used it. Never know what medicine can do to us. Has anyone else had this problem? ## If you had a blockage big enough to have req...

I took plan b on the 7th and for a whole week I experienced extreme nausea and was really light headed, feeling pressure. The following week the nausea went away but I still have pressure headaches, dizziness and chest pains as well. I got my period a few days ago and it was really heavy. Took a pregnancy test. Not sick. No heart problems. Could this still be from the plan b? Someone said it could be hormonal... ## It might be, those can be hormonal symptoms, as reported by the FDA. However, anytime you have chest pain, you should seek medical attention to be sure, for your own safety, since there are other issues that might cause that, such as a blood clot, or heart attack. Even though you don't have any prior heart problems, hormones can cause them, in some people. Are you on any ...

Anyone had numbness, tingling, of left forehead, along with soaring BP and in next few minutes very low? Feeling so sick :-( ## Those can all be withdrawal effects, according to the FDA, if you stop taking it abruptly, rather than tapering it slowly. You may also experience headache, diarrhea and elevated heart rate. However, there is a risk of these symptoms become dangerous and causing a heart attack or stroke, so you should see your doctor immediately. Are you on any other medications?

I have been on Clopidogrel 75mg after having a slight heart attack thought to have been caused by a blood clot in a small junction, my cholesterol was ok, pumping action ok, nothing needed to be done. I have been told to stop Clopidogrel and cardiologist said ok to stop it suddenly. I am 57 but also hypothyroid on 25mcg levothyroxine. Also on aspirin 75mg day. I tried coming off 4 weeks ago by taking only 3/4 of a tablet after reading its best to do it slowly but after a few days had an anxiety attack, I ended up going back on the full tablet. I have been taking 3/4 tablet a day again but getting tense and anxiety back again and indigestion. Feeling a bit yucky but worried its withdrawal from Clopidogrel. Or is it just anxiety due to hypothyroid, its driving me nuts. I keep belching and...

I've been taking lyrica everyday for around 7 months. I've tried to stop taking them and the withdrawal symptoms are so severe I couldn't bare it after 5 days. apart from severs sweating feeling sick and aching all over, its the hallucinations and feeling like you are going to die. I mean really thinking you are going to have a heart attack. I could see my aura and time goes by so slowly it's worse then any opiate withdrawals. I was terrified and went back on them. I take 500 to 100 mg a day. I must get off them. I can't stand it. I worry that if I had to go into a hospital I would start withdrawing and I wouldn't be able to get them. Can you help me? What can I do? ## Hello, Debz! How are you doing? I'm sorry about what you're going through. The FDA clas...

I have been experiencing a lot of heartburn in the past few months. I was quite concerned since I had a silent heart attack 2 years ago, and really had no symptoms nor any risk factors at the time .... So now I am worried every time I feel anything out of the ordinary. When I asked my doctor if it could be acid reflux, she said probably and gave me a 2 week sample of Tecta. I only took a few and stopped because I am going on holiday in a few days and don't want to experience any possible side effects. My big question is ... Could Tecta NOT be good if you have a heart condition? I read it could cause heart palpitations and so I am obviously concerned and wonder why my GP gave it to me. Or is it OK to take and that is why she gave it to me? My heartburn is still a problem. My husband ...

Is this used for when someone is possibly having heart attack symptoms? ## Hello, Vee! How are you? No, this would not help with that type of problem. This tablet contains 20mgs of Lisinopril, which is an ACE inhibitor that's most common used to treat high blood pressure. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, increase urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Dear all, I am so freaked out. My husband, age 41 had a widowmaker heart attack almost exactly a year ago... Jan 25, 2014. He had a drug eluting stent put in. He's been doing great all year, and in the last few weeks he's been experiencing shortness of breath again... No other symptoms. Just that. We went to his cardiologist this morning. He thinks that it may be the metroprolol he's been taking. May be reducing his bp too much and causing shortness of breath... Or maybe the cold weather.,he cut the metoprolol and said to wait a week and see if it goes away. If it doesn't he will need to do a stress diagnostic again. I'm so scared he has another blockage or restenosis.... The doc said restenosis usually has other symptoms too... Like feet swelling or chest pain etc.....

Now I find myself can barely walk because of my thighs and calf hurt so bad. My thighs hurts to even touch them. I have found taking a very hot shower sooth the pain. What should I do? Do I need to drink more water? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? Did you take anything to help raise your potassium level? If your level of potassium is low, it could cause these types of symptoms. You can also eat more foods that are rich in potassium, such as bananas. As to the water, are you showing signs of dehydration? heartburn and h pylori ## What kind of symptoms have you been getting lately? I recently had blood work done because my doctor thinks I might have it as well. Supposed to get the results by Wednesday. For me, it's been uncomfortable to eat too much. So if I get full while eating, instead of just feeling full I feel nauseous and bloated. Can't have any caffeine cause it aggravates it too much. Heavy foods seem to do the same thing. But it's weird ... I have been dealing with this for about 4 months, yet completely intermittent. I'll be fine for a couple of weeks, and then out of nowhere I will have a stomach attack (as I call them). Makes me feel uncomfortable for hours, and then I feel exhausted once it is over with. Did your doctor give you any medications to take for i...

are there any withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking this medication? ## There are rebound symptoms and they can cause some serious problems, so it isn't advisable to just stop taking it abruptly, without your doctor's approval and supervision. These rebound symptoms could result in sudden and severe elevations in blood pressure and heart rate, which has been known to cause heart attack and stroke. Learn more Amlodipine details here. Learn more Benazepril details here. Has your doctor instructed you to stop taking it? ## Yes. But he did not say anything about just cutting back slowly.

I ended up at the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. So I didn't take the last two pills of my dose pack. It has now been a full week after my last dose, and I am still struggling with insomnia, nausea, dizziness, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, heart pounding and high bp. I feel better in the evenings, but then it starts over in the mornings. Does anyone know how much longer these side effects will last? Does anyone have a similar story? ## Has anyone else have this problem with lingering side effects? Can you share how long? ## Hi Fed Up - I have had almost the exact symptoms as you except I also had insomnia while taking the pack. (Almost no sleep for 3-4 days.) I finished it though. I had my last one 3 days ago and since then I have gotten a bit more sleep, but now have...
