My insulin is on the higher side but my Doctor prescribed me Glycomet 1gm two tablets per day. My body is fat & a few years ago an ultrasound report had shown a fatty liver. Please advise me weight loss medicine appropriate for my age of 52 yrs. Thanks. ## Have you talked to your doctor about it? With your medical issues, it would be remiss of anyone online to try to suggest a medication for you to use for weight loss, as there are many which would just worsen your problems, especially the condition of your liver. The best thing you can do would be to just follow a health, low-fat and low sugar diet and get plenty of proper exercise.

Doc told me that i ve a problem that is my ovaries has been expanded. so she suggested me to take Glycomet 750 tablet. I just wanna know does it has any side effect if taken during pregnancy or till i conceive a baby. pls suggest me ans for my query. ## This medication is most commonly used to diabetes, as well as PCOS/PCOD, do you remember the doctor mentioning PCOS, or PCOD? That sounds like it could be your problem, and if so, it would be best to take the medication as directed. Such conditions can cause many problems conceiving a baby, so you really need to get it under control. It contains the active ingredient Metformin. Consulting online for diabetes will never work or it might turn dangerous. His dr will take his history clearly, disease nature, past control, current level, his past record of responsiveness to medicines, risk of hypoglycemia and many more other factors to rx suitable medicine for him. 500 mg/dl is too high - hence pls consult a dr immediately without any further delay. Any further delay will affect increase complications.

I am Taking Glycomet Gp 1 tablet in the morning and Glycomet 500 mg tablet in night but still my sugar is not in control. Presently my sugar level-empty stomach is 114 and after food is 199. This has been since last 3 months. Kindly advice. ## Are you watching your diet, as well as taking the medication? A medication alone is not enough to control your blood sugar. If you are eating a lot of foods that are laden in fats and/or sugars, it is going to cause your blood sugar to go up. The medication can only help to a certain point, but you also have to help it. You should keep your diet as healthy as possible, which for you means cutting down on fats and sugars. Also, how long after you eat are you checking your blood sugar? Everyone's will be raised, within a few hours of eating. Thi...

She has thyroiditis and and her USG of Abdomen and Pelvis report shows that she has mild fatty liver and polycystic ovaries (3-4mm follicles). The doctor has suggested her to take glycomet r 500 twice a day. Is it OK if she takes glycomet r 500 to reduce her weight and have a baby? We are also planning to have a baby. Please kindly suggest us. ## She should take the medication as prescribed by her doctor. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and flatulence. Has she started taking it, yet? Has there been any change?

I take amryl 2mg before breakfast and glycomet SR 500 after breakfast and before dinner also. Is it right way of taking? ## Amaryl contains the active ingredient Glimepiride and Glycomet contains the active ingredient Metformin, both are oral antidiabetic medications used to help control blood sugar. And yes, they are usually taken at mealtime, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise, since that is when most blood sugar spikes occur. Is using them this way keeping your sugar under control? ## I am 68 male. So far I was taking Glimet DS 500 after meal. My fasting sugar was 114. PP was 145.
