My insulin is on the higher side but my Doctor prescribed me Glycomet 1gm two tablets per day. My body is fat & a few years ago an ultrasound report had shown a fatty liver. Please advise me weight loss medicine appropriate for my age of 52 yrs. Thanks. ## Have you talked to your doctor about it? With your medical issues, it would be remiss of anyone online to try to suggest a medication for you to use for weight loss, as there are many which would just worsen your problems, especially the condition of your liver. The best thing you can do would be to just follow a health, low-fat and low sugar diet and get plenty of proper exercise. ...

Consulting online for diabetes will never work or it might turn dangerous. His dr will take his history clearly, disease nature, past control, current level, his past record of responsiveness to medicines, risk of hypoglycemia and many more other factors to rx suitable medicine for him. 500 mg/dl is too high - hence pls consult a dr immediately without any further delay. Sir,I am Taking Glycomet Gp 1 tablet in the morning and glycomet 500 mg tablet in night but still my sugar is not in control. Presently my sugar level-empty stomach is 114 and after food is 199.This has been since last 3 months.Kindly advice . Regards, Lohani K.k ## Are you watching your diet, as well as taking the medication? A medication alone is not enough to control your blood sugar. If you are eating a lot of foods that are laden in fats and/or sugars, it is going to cause your blood sugar to go up. The medication can only help to a certain point, but you also have to help it. You should keep your diet as healthy as possible, which for you means cutting down on fats and sugars. Also, how long after you eat are you checking your blood sugar? Everyone's will be raised, within a f... ...

I know that Glycomet is used by diabetic patients. My wife has become fat unnecessarily. She is 92 kg, 38 years and has 158 cms height. She has thyroiditis and and her USG of Abdomen and Pelvis report shows that she has mild fatty liver and polycystic ovaries (3-4mm follicles). The doctor has suggested her to take glycomet r 500 twice a day. Is it OK if she takes glycomet r 500 to reduce her weight and have a baby? We are also planning to have a baby. Please kindly suggest us. ## She should take the medication as prescribed by her doctor. My father ir having fastin sugar 99..and hes is taking insulin and after food he is taking glycomet GP 2..aftr that he is havin tirdness..whether we have to stop taking glycomet GP 2 or insulin ## Tiredness can be due to a number of different things, including your father's choice of foods whether he is on insulin or not. It doesn't appear to be listed as a possible side effect of Fastin (Phentermine), but it is known to be pretty severe if one were to accidentally overdose on Glycomet (Metformin). This leads me to wonder if there are any sort of interactions between Metformin and food that might cause it's effects to be increased or amplified. Also, the fact that he is on a few different medications could be a bit overwhelming on his system. If he's able to cycle throug... ...
