I have gained custody of my grandchild because of parent addiction. They are now being given Suboxone, the rehab person says "no, they can't get high from it". I believe they can. From what information I have read he high is just not as strong. So can a person "get high" from suboxone? ## In theory, yes, someone could get high from it, because it still contains a narcotic, which is Buprenorphine. However, there are 2 factors that come into play to prevent their doing so and abusing it. When someone is in addiction treatment, the dosage is carefully calculated to be a maintenance dose, that way it prevents withdrawals from the other drugs they were abusing, but doesn't give a high effect. And the second is that it also contains Naloxone, which prevents their takin...

Hello, I'm having a problem getting my Norco 7.5 filled. I've had 7 surgeries since October removing staph infection absess. These are very bad absess. Usually over 4 inches deep and about that length and all over my body. My doctor has been prescribing them to me because the incisions have to be packed by my home health nurse or the doctor, which severely painful. I just was released from the hospital after having another surgery and he gave me a new prescription because I'm supposed to take them before anyone touches near the incision, so that I don't let the pain become unbearable. This is causing me to run out earlier than some people. The deal is I suffer from seizures and blackouts and if my blood pressure goes very high from the pain I can and have either a seizur...

Why is it so expensive ? ## Hello, Mellencamp! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Unfortunately, I have no listing of the prices that I can check for you. I gave platelets today. I was thirty-eight minutes in the procedure. When we had to stop the process, I was experiencing intense burning in the bladder. I was told that that was because the dosage of citrate dextrose solution was too high. My question is this: Is this a normal reaction to a high dose? Should I not try to give platelets again? This was my second attempt to give platelets. My first attempt we had to stop because I also had some discomfort in the bladder. The discomfort was not this intense.

I am a 63 year old Indian (Asian) male. I have been taking medications for high BP for the past 15 years. Currently I am taking - Coversyl AM 4/5, Lorvas SR, Angispan TR 2.5 mg, Clopitab 75 mg, Nefrosave, Febuget 40 mg. In the last 6 months (Aug 2013 to Feb 2014) my urea level has gone up from 55 to 100, uric acid from 3.0 6.0 and serum creatinine remained at 2.0. Electrolytes continue to remain within the range. I do not observe any physical changes such as swelling of feet or tiresomeness. I am agile and active. Could you please suggest a way out to keep my urea within the range? I am a strict vegetarian and don't even eggs. Do you suggest any restrictions on specific vegetables. I need a pain Meditation that is Not as high risk for Addiction..i have told that Nuycnta er is not as addictive as other pain medicines is this true ## Hi, Rhonda! How are you? All of the narcotic opiates have the potential to be habit forming and addictive, including Nucynta. And a person who has had a problem with addiction in the past is more prone to develop one with any new medication introduced that has addictive potential. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may be able to help you discover a viable option. Outside of the narcotics, there are some pretty strong NSAIDs, but they aren't going to help much with severe pain. What have you already tried?

My father died in 1986 of a brain stem stroke due to Triglycerides that were well over 600. He laid in the ICU for a month with no brain activity to speak of. We took him off the ventilator and let him go. At that time I was 22 years young and my brother was 26. The doctors that oversaw my dad informed my brother and I to watch our Tri count as we aged. Sure enough, my liver produces large amounts of Tri’s on a regular basis regardless of diet. I have been on Tricor, Simvastatin and Zocor to little or no success. I am wondering if anyone can relate to my story and has been taking Gemfib. I prefer to not take any statins but I don’t think my DNA will allow me not to. I exercise with weights and cardio, eat pretty well only to have my Tri’s be over 500. My Cholesterol is...

I take about 150mgs of percocet30mgs a day and I want to know if I take methadone will it help with the withdrawl & shakes of the stopping the percocet dose every day.. I have used methadone to come off of percocets before, but it was at a way lower dose.. I know suboxtons are what is recomended but from what I'm told @ my dose methadone is stronger if I use it right ## Well the main issue is that the Methadone itself is very addictive and you could end up trading one problem for another. That is the reason that Suboxone has become the preferred addiction treatment option, because it has helped many more people become drug free, rather than have to stay on a lifetime maintenance dose of it, as happens with most people that use Methadone. What has your doctor recommended? ## yes,...

Hi, I am 32 and taking an androgel for the past 3 years as my testosterone was very low in a first place. Now my testosterone level is very high, about 1200. My doctor is saying that since I am on medication that's ok if my levels are high and I am continue on androgel. Would you agree with that or should I get another opinion? ## I really am not familiar with how it works, when you're taking these types of medications, but I do know there can be some issues if it's too high, just like there can be if it's too low. Thus, getting a second opinion, just to be sure would likely be a very smart idea. There's no harm in it, your doctor never even has to know. You could actually just call one of those free health lines and ask, or ask your pharmacist if they know. Learn mo...
