How do the white round alprazolam 2mg compare to the white xanax 2mg bars? My doctor told me generic brands can be up to 30% weaker or 30% stronger. Also the yellow 2mg aprazolam bars. How do these 3 rank in potency or whatever? ## Your doctor is right, on all except the percentage, the allowable difference by the FDA is plus or minus 20%, not 30. They consider this an acceptable therapeutic window. As to how any compare to the name brand, you are not going to get any information from just providing the color, since they don't actually mean anything and doesn't tell anyone who the manufacturer is. So if a medicine says Mylan on it, that simply means that they are the manufacturer, and it is not the name of the med. Usually it would say Mylan and then also have some numbers on it. I have a question. Since being in this online community I have been mainly a part of the benzo club. I have seen a multitude of questions about which generic is better (company making I assume a stronger 1mg Xanax than another, as an example). I have taken generics of everything I can for decades and have never noticed any difference between generic and brand, or one generic compared to the generic by a different company but the same drug. I have been on benzoate for 15 years and the 3 mg xanax er was working great until the generic was changed on me by the pharmacy. I have been asked to try 1 mg ativan twice daily and my anxiety and panic kicks in that if I say these work and then they don't I won't be able to function. Are these the same and if not how do I get my dr to keep me on the best meds for me and my chemistry. Is there a way to find a generic specific, where the fillers do not affect the half life of my meds? Also I never sleep and I know this just adds to the anxiety then the panic. Any advice? Hey everyone, I just saw that there is a brand new line of generic xanax alprazolam in .25mg, .5mg, 1mg, and 2mg tablets that are newly approved generics for alprazolam xanax. the 2mg are legit made pharma rectangular bars imprinted b707 and shape is very similar to brand name (greenstone) front side says B 7 0 7 and the back is blank and has a curve up like brand name and greenstone. Any mood altering meds should be tapered off slowly. Talk to your doctor to see how you should slowly adjust your dosage. Check your meds to see if they are benzodiazapines, like Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Clonazapam etc (they have different names for the brand vs the generic, so check your meds to see what types they are.) They drugs can be addictive and do cause serious withdrawal symptoms. I had seizures when I quit Xanax cold turkey. I am now on Ativan, but a low dose that I only take when I REALLY need it to help with panic attacks and panic related sleeplessness. The more you take these meds, the less they work and the more problems they cause when you stop taking them. I think u r mistaking the 5 when really it is a 9 instead. If that's the case then it is xanax .5 mg ## @Silas, I'm not sure who you're message is being directed at when you mention that "I think you're mistaking the 9 for a 5", but the imprint S 901 is actually referring to Alprazolam 0.5mg (the generic for Xanax - not brand name Xanax). I only bring this up because there are many instances where patients note a completely different reaction to a brand vs a generic alternative.
