I am taking a tablet of Galvus-Met 50/500 and Metride 1. These are very costly medicines and I am looking for some cheaper combination. Mydiabetese Type II is monitored as follows PP Blood 163.4 Fasting 96.63 Hb1AC 6.03 Pl advise. Will X-met be cheaper and equally effective. ## No, the X-Met only contains the active ingredient Metformin. Learn more Metformin details here. But in the Glavusmet there is Vidagliptin and Metformin and in the Metride there is Glimepiride and Metformin, so the X-Met is not an equivalent medication. Learn more Vidagliptin details here. Galvus Met 50/500, I am taking before breakfast as prescribed by a physician since one year but One cardiologist suggests to have it after breakfast. My questions is when it should be taken before breakfast or after breakfast ? ## Normally, these types of medications are taken just before a meal, that way they have a chance to start working by the time you are actually digesting the meal and you would experience the greatest blood sugar elevations. What instructions has the prescribing doctor given you? If they are the one treating your diabetes, then they are the one's whose instructions you should follow. ...
