Gabapetin - sore throat - throat irritation

I have been on Gabapentin for 2 years for diabetic neuropathy, building up to 300mg x 3 times daily. Six months age I started getting a sore and burning feeling in my throat, which causes me to continually cough to clear my throat. I have had a camera down my throat and nothing bad showed. An x-ray showed I had some fluid in the base of my lungs -could this cause the soreness as well as the persistent cough? I tried reducing the Gabapentin to 200mg x 3 times and the cough eased a lot, but the nerve pain got worse so I increased it again ## Hello, Pamopal! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Yes, it is most likely from the fluid, the cough and throat clearing could be what's actually causing the soreness. Gabapentin can also cause dry mouth and throat... ...

gabapentin and klonapin

I take 1200 mg of gabapetin a day, 1 mg klonapin for sleep. From my rheumatogist. My pcp put me on ibuprofen 800mg every 12 hrs. And also lidoderm 5% patches. Will there be any side effects from the ibuprofen 800mg. And will I have any problems getting the new presciptions filled by my pcp. Just got the new scripts. ## Hello, Lynnda! How are you doing? Neither the Ibuprofen, nor the Lidoderm are controlled substances, so there shouldn't be any issues, just make sure that both doctors are aware of all the medications that you're taking and the Mescape database doesn't list any problems or interactions between these medications. The Ibuprofen is list3d by the FDA as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased r... ...

Gabapentin 600 mg at bedtime

if prescribed 600 mgs of gabapetin 3 times a day, is it ok to take all 3 at bedtime instead of during the day due to drowsiness? ## Hi rita, Depending on what you're taking it for, the usual adult dose is taken orally in 3 divided doses. If you do take it all at once (which you can), then I'd imagine you'd have to take more at some point in the day when it begins to wear off; thus making you take more than you are prescribed to take. Have you talked to your doctor about upping your dosage? ...

Tapered up to 1800 mg. on sample pack and my Dr. didn't listen & called in Gabapetin. I tried that off & on for a few years post chemo. (Peripheral neuropathy). I then went cold turkey to about 2-3 '300' mg. pills for a couple of days, felt that swirly headed silly almost tipsy feeling & decided to just stop the drug. It has never helped my PN. And an online msg. board has many posts about Gralise being a big joke. Maybe??? having some pain relief from Cymbalta, but probably only 75% back pain relief. Still have 25% back/shoulder pain. Such is life. Everyone lives w/ pain. But I do have chronic pain from PN. And emotional pain. PTSD from past cancer, etc. ## Hello, Marie! How are you doing? Gralise is Gabapentin, it's just a name brand for it. Learn more Gral... ...

I Was Prescribed Gabapentin 100mg 3 Times A Day For Nerve Damage In My Legs And Feet

Had neck surgery. but it didn't help with my legs and feet. They are numb, feels like they are asleep, my hands also are numb and feel like sandpaper. Do you think Gabapetin 100mg 3 times a day will help with these affects. ## Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been proven effective at helping with certain types of nerve pain. Learn more Gabapentin details here. Some people get very good results from it and some don't. The only way to see if it will help you is to try it and see. You should not, however, expect it to work immediately like regular analgesics would, since that's not what it is, so it doesn't have any effect that fast. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for this medication to reach its full efficacy level in the body and you discover whether or not it work... ...
