These caps are expensive. Made in cap form & only difference in dosage is that the APAP in caps is 300 mg vs the APAP in tab form is 325 mg. Any info on coupons for the caps? I've tried a lot of the coupons & still remain $70 to $100 for 60. My Dr has written them specifically for TABLET form but the pharmacy said they are only carrying the caps. Thanks so much. ## CVS in NH always, always has the tablets. I’ve been taking this for years and have never been given a capsul. If you have AAA (for your car) a lot of chain pharmacies will have a good discount if you show them the card. My $90 Adderall prescription was only $30 and my pharmacist told me someone got a $900 pet prescription for $90. It’s worth a try. Just make sure you print the discount card from AAA...

Will they be making Fioricet Tablets again? The capsules don't work as well on my pain. ## they haven't stopped, you can get brand name or generic ## I have gotten the brand capsules but are wondering if the Manufacturer will start making the brand tablets again? My Pharmacist says they dont make the tablets anymore. If you've gotten the brand tablets please tell me where you got them. ## @Patricia, Do you know which manufacturer it was who originally produced the tablet form of Fioricet? If you do, I would probably encourage you to contact them directly regarding specific details on the tablet's future availability. If nothing else, perhaps they will be able to recommend a different manufacturer who may already be making these again. Another thought is to have a compoun...

I'm sorry, but from what I'm aware of, the tablets are not currently available, only the capsules. Have you asked at your local pharmacy? Anybody know.. why they stopped manufacturing fioricets? ## The original Fioricet tabs were manufactured by Watson, but Activas Pharm took it over so I called the company and spoke to them directly regarding the new formulation of the capsules. I spoke to the head of Pharmaceutical Engineering and he explained that, while the main compounds have remained the same, except for the acetaminophen levels going down, the INACTIVE ingredients have changed and there is a SULFA ingredient in this capsule that could render it ineffective if someone (like me) can not metabolize sulfa compounds! Though the website states their change in formulation is due to FDA requests for Tylenol levels, this is not true... they only decreased by 25mg. That was a convenient excuse! Their pharmacy rep explained t...

I took these capsules, these were told by pham. that they are the same ingredients as foinal w/codine. But I am having red blotching all over my body, plus it is eyes & lips are swelling alittle.Help??? ## Okay, first of all there is NO Fiorinal with Codeine, Fiorinal contains Aspirin, Butalbital and Caffeine, it is commonly used to treat migraines. These capsules contain 30mgs of Codeine, 500mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine, so they are the generic for Fioricet with Codeine. That said, even if you have taken this same thing before, it is possible for an allergy or new side effect to suddenly occur. this site is not medical professionals, but this certainly sounds like an allergic reaction and you should consult your doctor or pharmacist IMMEDIATELY! ##...

I am so sad that this is no longer available in a tablet, but only in capsule form. I usually take 3/4 of a pill and chop it and carry the pieces in a small plastic bag. Why would you take more medication than you need to solve a problem. I see on this blog that several have been chopping the pill in half, and like me this is one of the only resources I have left in medication for migraines. I'm allergic to a lot of medication. If only someone knew how we already suffer, they'd never make it harder for us. ## So relieved that I am not alone in my need and want for Fiorinal in the tablet form. The capsules do nothing to relieve the pain and upset stomach of a migraine headache. Fioricet is just as ineffective. Does anyone know if the tablets are available from a Canadian Pharmacy...

Here's some definitive info from Actavis who bought out Watson. fioricet.com Briefly: New formulation is out because of FDA requirements (reduces Tylenol from 325 to 300). No change to Butalbital or caffeine mg's Tablets are discontinued. Only capsules are available. The formulation without Codeine is NOT a schedule III drug (Actavis received an FDA exemption) If your doc writes for tabs you may want to discuss having him alter the scrip so that it doesn't get bounced. The good news is that it looks like the Brand Name will still be available. I had GREAT luck with West Ward for over 30 years. The white tabs by Qualitest suck so I'm going to pay the extra and go for the Brand to see how well it works. Good luck everyone. ## Has anyone ever heard of the mfg, of butalbital...

helping at all new fioricet capsules not working like old tablets I used them for fibromyalgia for years what did theydo to them?pkp ## I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer for you. They are claimed to be the same, with the same dosages of the active ingredients. However, many people have posted similar complaints. The best suggestion I can make is to contact your doctor and ask about using an alternative medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I just took my first fiorcet capsule since the cange over from tablets. They only difference in it the capsule and 25 less mg's of acetimetaphen. So far it's worked fine on busting my tension headache. My suggestion is take a small amout of tylanol along with it. Hope this helps.

What is this for? they are light blue capsules with a design of a head. And has Fioricet written on it. ## Hello, Tater bug! How are you? Fioricet is most commonly used to treat migraine and severe tension headaches. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, nervousness and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with? It's surprising that you found one, since many people are having trouble finding the name brand in stock, anywhere. It makes me wonder if it might be an older one. ## What is the pain medicine in it. ## Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Is this capsule time released? ## I have a pill that is a white caplet with a J on one side and a 4 and a 2 on the other side. Is ...

Is it possible for pharmacist to provide powdered Rx if tablets no longer manufactured? Some of the old time pharmacists still concoct some Rx, although I'm only familiar with them doing cremes. The capsules are useless, as is Fioricet, and I've taken tablets for 25 years. I have even tried Fioricet along with additional aspirin, but no relief. Is there any recourse to get these tablets manufactured in labs again? Tried many things with no relief. ## Hello, Darlene! How are you? Yes, this can be done by compounding pharmacies. Basically, they keep powdered forms of drugs on hand and put them into capsules, as per the dosage your doctor orders. This can still be done for almost any medication, as long as it hasn't been pulled from the market due to health dangers. Is there an...

I have taken Fiorinal tablets for several years as it is the only medication that works for my headaches. I take 1/2 pill at a time, so taking a capsule will not work. I've been informed that Fiorinal tablets are not being made any longer and you can only get Fioricet capsules. Won't work for me. I've also been informed that the explanation for the discontinuance of Fiorinal is a manufacturing plant investigation. Can anyone explain that more? Is the plant investigation for this drug or for something else? If something else, that doesn't explain why Fiorinal is discontinued. I have tried other medications which don't work and I truly would like to find a way to get Fiorinal again. ## Hello, Peanut! How are you? That is correct, at this time, the tablets are no longer...
