Is Fedac syrup safe for babies? There are arguments re the medication because of a baby vomitting after being fed with it. The child's father was told by another doctor that Fedac should be given to children 2 years and above. ## I am not sure which syrup you are referring to, since there are two, however, that is correct from the information listed, none are listed with dosaged for us in children under 2 years of age. Fedac syrup contains Pseudoephedrine, Tripolidine and there is one that also includes Codeine, which is a narcotic. There is concern over adults using Pseudoephedrine and Codeine, so they are generally not recommended in children. Have you spoken to your doctors about your concerns? ## May I know the correct Fedac syrup dosage for 14 months old

i have sinus problem and have been taking fedac since the past 1 year ++, recently my sinus has gotten worse and i have to take fedac, maximum a pill for 2 days. Will fedac affect my health in the future or at least can someone tell me the effects (long/short term) of fedac to health? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Fedac contains the active ingredients Tripolidine and Pseudoephedrine and there are two possible reasons for your problem. The first could be due to the fact that when you take something for so long, in the same dosage, your body will eventually get used to it and it will not longer be as effective, so you may need to adjust the dosage or use a different medication. The second could be a rebound type effect that can happen, when you take something like this for such a lon...

I was prescribed Fedac as a decongestant for a cold, and I am supposed to take 2 pills/day, one each time, but I misread the label and took 2 at once, right before sleep. I am worried I will not wake from my sleep because Fedac has a drowsy effect, and there was a time before when I had a cold and accidentally took two muscle relaxants too close together (which also make one drowsy) and felt like I would almost not wake from my sleep - very unsettling.....................@@ If anyone can let me know whether I should be worried about letting myself fall asleep after this overdose I would REALLY appreciate it!!! Thank you so much ## Any time that you are concerned that you or a loved one may be in life threatening danger, you should consult your local poison control or your nearest emerge...

After taking fedac, does one perspire? ## Fedac is listed as containing Triprolidine and Pseudoephedrine and it you're breaking out in a sweat after taking it, it's most likely the latter that's causing it. Pseudoephedrine tends to have a stimulatory like effect in some people that take it, which can cause accelerated heart rate and elevated blood pressure and that may explain your perspiring. Learn more Triprolidine details here and there are more Pseudoephedrine details here. Have you consulted your doctor? It might not be safe for you to take this medication, if it's doing that every time you take it.

need to know if combination of fedac and practine increases the bone size and helps in gaining weight and also if there is any side effect to this ?? ## Periactin (Cyproheptadine) is actually the correct name for "Practine". It is an antihistamine used to relieve seasonal and nonseasonal allergy symptoms such as hay fever, watery and itchy eyes, runny and stuffy nose, sneezing, nasal inflammation, hives, and rashes. Pseudoephedrine is reported to be an active ingredient in Fedac. Pseudoephedrine is commonly used as a decongestant. The combination of these two drugs would act to prevent allergies and stuffy nose. This has no relation or effect on your weight or bone size. For side effect information about Cyproheptadine, please refer to the link below... For side effect informati...

I've been taking Fedac daily to fall asleep as I have difficulties sleeping. I have been taking it for months. Should I be worried for any side effects? ## Hello, Arpeggi! How are you? Yes, this medication is listed as containing Pseudoephedrine and Triprolidine and long-term use of the Pseudoephedrine can be dangerous, it can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. It's amazing that it helps you sleep as it usually tends to cause insomnia in most people. Have you consulted a doctor to see what you can safely take to help with your insomnia? ## Many thanks for the reply, I have not spoke to a doctor about it yet. Maybe I should.
