My husband has been on exelon patch for about three years but his alzheimers is progressing faster at this point I think moving into the severe stage. This medication costs us over $400 per month and that's with our insurance paying for part of it. Our income is going down and we cannot afford for him to take this any longer. Can you safely quit cold turkey, should you cut the patches in half for a month or two. Surely someone has had this problem. I want to go on a trip that will include flying. I have suffered with motion sickness all my life but do well with Bonine. What will happen if I take Bonine while on the patch? ## Hello, Mag! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be certain. The Bonine may cause you to experience more side effects than usual, so you may feel more dizzy and drowsy than you usually do on the Exelon alone. Is there anything else I can help with?

My mother (86yrs) started on exelon 4.6 4 weeks ago. She suffers from bronchiectasis on one lung and I feel like her breathing has worsened since using the patches. Initially - as its coughs and colds season- the GP put her on anti biotics and high steroid dosage (6 per day) but 10 days later she has worsened. As of today 6th Jan, she is on the 9.5 patches. I have read it can cause breathing problems. Any other experiences or advice please on this, as the GP doesnt think it is Exelon related. Thanks in advance ## Thank you. Wife diagnosed with Parkinsons disease on Jan 16, 2006. She takes Sinmet, Namenda, Citalopram HBR (your manufacture), Exelon, Vitamin D, Vitamin B, and Ibuprophen. About 20+ pills a day. She has a terrible time taking your pills (1 and 1/2 20 mg tablets at breakfast). For some reason the Citalopram sticks to her tongue and she simply doesn't seem to be able to get them down. The other pills are not very difficult. I've tried apple sauce, yogurt, honey, juice, water, grinding them up into a powder (pills do not pulverize and many granules remain in the glass). My Mum is diagnosed Parkinsons Dimentia or Lewy Body Dementia. She has been prescribed and has been taking low dose Seroquel (25mg) which dose has been dropped to 12.5mg approx 6 weeks ago. The drugs Mum is on aren't working for her (she is very sensitive to Benzo lines and other drugs) and I'm discussing with her Doctor the feasibility of switching to cholinesterase inhibitor drugs instead. Rivastignmine (Exelon) is one of those drugs but I note it does moderately interact with Seroquel. As Mum is incredibly sensitive to drugs and their effects, I'd rather Mum be completely off Seroquel before commencing something such as Rivastignmine. What period of time would be a safe duration to suggest that the Seroquel would no longer be in her system? ## Approximately 36 hours, but ...
