I am a 42 yr old woman and had a complete hysterectomy in October 2008. Within 1 year of my surgery, I began experiencing extreme hair loss. This November, my doctor prescribed EST ESTRN METHTEST .625/1.25 mg (in addition to the ESTRADIOL .5mg that I was already taking) to help reduce the hair loss. I was wondering if this medication is used for this purpose (as well as it's other benefits)? My mother is a breast cancer survivor (2009) & I am concerned about increasing my chances, by taking all these medications. Recently ran out of above med's (2.5 mg) after taking for 1 month. I did not refill for 5 days.... After about 3 days of not taking the meds I started getting severe headaches. Can you get headaches when stopping these meds? ## Hello, Flash! How are you feeling? Yes, since these are hormones, headaches can be both a side effect of taking them and a withdrawal effect of stopping them. You should consult your doctor to be sure that there is nothing else going on, but if the headaches stopped, when you started taking it again, they were most likely caused by the withdrawal. hormone ## Please give me an explanation of the discontinuance of EST ESTROGENMTEST DSTAB GLENMARK tablets,(dark green ones) and recommend a testosterone substitute for a female who has benefited from multiple organisms - not EST ESTRGN METHTEST 1.25/2.5?
