What is opana a equal to in lotabs 10 ## Hello, Renee! How are you? Not factoring the effect of the Acetaminophen in the Lortab, you'd need 30mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equivalent to each 10mg Opana. However, it also should be noted that the Lortab is not time released, like the Opana ER, so it's pain relieving effects won't last as long throughout the day and due to the Acetaminophen in the Lortab, it isn't safe to take multiples of them, unless your doctor specifically approves. Even then, you have to make sure not to exceed 3,000mgs a day, or you risk overdose toxicity. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constip... ...

Has anybody tried OPANA VS OC 80s. Any feedback would be helpful ## What dosage of the Opana? The Oxymorphone in it is actually twice as strong as the Oxycodone, so if you were taking 40mgs of it, then the equivalent dose of Oxycodone would be 80mgs. Both can be effective at controlling pain, it just requires a dosage adjustment. You should also know that there are no more Oxycontin OCs. Purdue has changed the formulation and they are now Oxycontin OP. Are there any questions or comments? Does anyone else have advice to add? ## i have and they work fair for pain but made me very tired. ## DO NOT GET THE NEW OPANA 40MG ER, THEY ARE JUCK A LORTAB 10/325 WORK BETTER BEFORE A OPANA WOULD BLOW OXYCONTIN THE NEW ONE (OP)AWAY BUT NOT NOW,MY DR PUT ME BACK ON THE NEW OPANA DO NOT WORK IN 2 WEEK... ...

my mother is currently taking opana IR 10mg and i was wondering if this drug is dangerous for people who have COPD & emphazemia cause i notice that she has a harder time breathing after she takes it. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, it is a narcotic, so it can cause depression of the central nervous system, as well as respiratory depression, so that is what may be causing her problem. Have she consulted her doctor about this? These side effects are common to all narcotics and she may need a lower dosage or to try a difference medication. ...

How long is opana 40 mg shelf life? ## Hi mike, According to the thread linked below, the shelf life of Opana is 3 years: /Discuss/Opana-ER-Shelf-Life-225768.htm However a Harvard Medical School family health article states that, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. But the question is whether or not the drug you have happens to be one of these drugs from the study... (I have not seen the list of drugs ... ...

I have a bullet in my back which can not be removed. some one told me about opana as he suffers with the same injury! Was wondering if the opana works better on this type of nerve pain better than the percocet? ## Hi Delain - sorry to hear about your chronic pain. Technically speaking the Opana (active ingredient Oxymorphone) is a significantly stronger pain killer than Percocet if you are taking the same dosage. However, depending on how your body metabolizes it and exactly how you are taking the medication could influence the result. If you have already started the Opana may I ask how you are finding it compared to the Percocet? Hopefully you are finding the relief you need! ## I havent switched ... ...

transition from methadone to opana30. ## Opana contains the potent narcotic Oxymorphone, so in theory, switching from Methadone to it should not cause any problems, as long as your doctor carefully calibrates the dosage. However, Methadone does tend to create a problem, because even when you are switched to another narcotic, it tends to make some people still experience some withdrawal effects, such as rebound pain, stomach pain, chills and vomiting. These types of issues are why many people that use it to try to beat drug addiction actually end up never being really drug free, because they have to take lifelong maintenance doses of the Methadone. Does anyone have any advice to add? ## I don't have any advice on this, but I do have questions.I currently take 4-10mg Methadone tablets ... ...

ER 20mg Opana

May of the year, I started the Opana ER 20mg and for me this has been wonderful. I was only able to afford oxycodone prior to the start of insurance in May. Been fighting a crazy battle with the oxycodone pain relief, cause the pharmacy keeps pushing KVK Tech product that doesn't work for me and has side effects. With Opana ER 20mg as my primary pain relief and Oxycodone 10mg for breakthrough pain, I am finally adjusting where I can function, which It has been a long time. Several years ago when I first started with oxycodone 30mg, life was good because I could function and then my local pharmacies started slipping the KVK products in on me and life became awful. Have heard that some people find the Opana makes them very sleepy. Lucky but so far I haven't had a problem. ## Hi Su... ...

Opana 10 mg equivalentcy

I was prescribed 10 mg Opana when my dr changed my 60 mg morphine to reduce the mg quantity due to the Narcotics and Controlled Substance bs. the pharmacist said it was equivalent as far as the dosage and ability to control the pain. I took a whole one due to not being able to break it and feel there is no comparison. Is this something that gets better the more you take it? ## It actually takes 20mgs of Opana to equal each 60mgs of Morphine. So, that may be why you're not getting as much relief. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you informed your doctor that this dose isn't helping your pain? ...

opana 10 mg ir roxane vs teva
6 Replies RSS
Rx filled & wondering about oxymorphone 10 mg ir by roxane, what Ive gotten previously. Now got 10 mg ir by teva. The teva doesn't seem to give as much relief. It might be too early to judge, as I had to GI without for 2 days. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. ## Should've read had to go without! ## :-) No worries, I'm very fluent in typonese! And yes, it most likely is far too early to know for sure if it's going to work for you or not. If you had to go without for 2 days, then your pain has actually been aggravated by the rebound effect that can occur with a sudden withdrawal of these types of medications…and that's on top of the typical withdrawal symptoms. I'd say to give it about 2 weeks, then you should be able to judge a bit better. ... ...
