I've taken Omeprazole from both Dr. Reddy's and Sandoz. Dr. Reddy's works much better for me. If it's the difference in inactive ingredients used, then, in my experience that makes a big difference. ## Inactive ingredients do usually make a significant difference in the overall efficacy of these medications. Certain binders/fillers which may or may not be present in each brand, are detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Due to the sensitive nature of the matter, I'm frustratingly surprised that doctor's and pharmacists don't take any time out to mention this to their patients after giving them a completely different script without any prior consent. A humorous analogy I came up with is that it's like paying for ice cream and get...

Is it safe to use axiron and androderm simultaneously? I was on axiron for a year and my Urologist prescribed androderm. I read that axiron delivers 30 mgs of test versus 5 mg that androderm delivers. Will this drop in dosage cause unwanted side effects? ## Hello, Ed! How are you? Which dosage of the Androderm was prescribed? There is more than one available and how often do you change the patch via the prescribing instructions? A dosage change may result in your feeling more tired and having a lower libido for a few days, until your body adjusts. ## I was prescribed the 2 mg patches but they come off too easily especially when I sweat. My Urologist told me to go back to Axiron and one pump per armpit. Testosterone is the best. Test is best ...after a year on it I feel great. My concern...

I can only get about 60 drops per 4ml. Mfg says that there are 200 drops per 4ml. Anyone else having problems with prescription running out too soon? ## This is about Jublia ## Hello, Larry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I've noticed this myself, with various medications in liquid form and what it usually comes down to is your drops being bigger than what they consider to be standard. Squeezing a dropper or bottle harder or longer than they do, can cause you to be using more than you should. You may want to ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how you should be using it and how much you should be using each time. Jublia is listed by the FDA as being an antifungal medication, it is used topically, so most side effects relate to that and inc...

I changed pharmacies cause the pill police Rexall pharmacist in small town KS took it upon himself to make me come in twice a month for a 30 day script and even lied about it said the dr. prescribed em that way. Well when I switched to the Qualitest it seems they are not nearly as good. Can't sleep, I wake up 3 hours after going to bed and ache all day. Anyone else experience BAD QUALITY WITH QUALITEST? ## Hello, Tom! How are you? You aren't the first person to have a problem with their products, but it does vary, they work great for some people. There can be variations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to another, so it may be slightly lower than the one you were taking, which could explain why it doesn't work for you. You can learn more about this by ...

Which is better norco or hydrocodone for pain ## Hello, Kelsey! How are you? They are actually the same, Norco contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was originally prescribed hydromet which I know has a narcotic in it the pharmacy gave me chlo tuss liquid! From my research this product has no narcotic in it. It was originally prescribed to relieve my cough at bedtime and help me sleep. Please help is this the same or was I dooped at my pharmacy and this has no pain reliever!!! ## Amber, Chlo tuss liquid does NOT contain hydrocodone nor any other opiate type preparation. Your prior rx contained hydrocodone and was far more powerful.Chlo tuss is indicated for dry unproductive cough and is non habit forming. Hope that helps answer your question. ## Amber, Are you sure it was the pharmacy that substituted your rx for hydromet? This cough syrup is indicated for short term relief only most PHYSCIANS are uncomfortable continuing to rx th...

I'm trying to find out if hydrocodone 5/325 is the same thing as percocet? ## Hello, Donny! How are you? No, Percocet contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. So they are both opiates, but different. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is Hysingla ER as bad as Zohydro ER? ## Hello, Wondering! How are you? What problems did you have with Zohydro? This is basically the same thing, it also contains Hydrocodone as the active ingredient, in an extended release formulation. It's just manufactured by a different company and the time released mechanism is different. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## To the initial poster. If you are reacting to Zohydro's initial lack of any type of anti-abuse deterrent, Hysingla ER has such deterrents in place. While there is a lot of controversy surrounding these new extended release hydrocodone based medications...

Is it? ## No not addicted got terminal illness. Wanted to know if it is the same cuz I dont like to take something I dont know.Got Sle Lupus pain every day ## Hello, Nat! How are you? Yes, both of the tablets you've mentioned contain 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 750mgs of Acetaminophen, they are generics for Vicodin, Lortab, Norco and others. Learn more Lortab details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it does have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are the ingredients in Diovan 160 mg and Losartan 100-25 mg comparable if I run out of one can I switch to other? ## Hi Elaine, As far as comparing these drugs, I think it's not wise to assume that they have similar properties, since everyone can react differently to one or the other, despite having an equivalent dosage. If you're used to taking one or the other and have your doctors permission, I'd say it's fine to switch off between the two. However, at the same time I wouldn't necessarily anticipate having the same relief or results from two entirely different medications. On a side note: Eating whole foods that have little to no sodium and which are high in potassium and magnesium are solid dietary options for lowering blood pressure. These foods primarily includ...

I've been on muscle relaxers for about 7 years, due to a neck fracture injury ending in a surgut oval nonfusion. I have chaotic pain that my pain Doctor treats with 10/325 Hyrdroco/APAP. Limit of six per day. Some days I take the maximum some days I don't depending on my activities. He substitutes my hydrocodone done with Baclofen 10 mg. his prescription says take one to two tablets by mouth three times daily as needed for muscle spasms. I rarely ever take the maximum dose. We first started out with Flexeril that worked for a little while but I needed something more. I was having severe muscle spasm's that felt like my muscles in my shoulderswere drawing up into my ears. This caused excruciating headaches. So he put me on a stronger muscle relaxer back to the van and we talk...

I know both are hydroxyzine but are they basically the same thing? I had a prescription for the k 11 but ran out and was prescribed the E613 version but want to know if they are the same? ## Hello, Tomy! How are you? Yes, according to the NIH database, they both contain 25mgs of Hydroxyzine, they are just manufactured by different companies, which is very common with generics. Whichever one your pharmacy carries may vary, depending on what company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. It's how they help keep prices down for underinsured, or uninsured patients. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation.

What is difference in ingredients between Hydrocodone and Vicodin? I am trying to find out what is stronger: Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 10 325 or are Vicodin 500 tablets stronger? ## Hi Viv, To answer your question I first need to explain that Vicodin actually contains both Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen as the active ingredients. So in your comparison, both drugs contain the same active ingredients, just in different doses. Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 10 325 is a generic for Norco containing Hydrocodone 10mg and Acetaminophen 325mg. Vicodin 500 contains Hydrocodone 5mg and Acetaminophen 500mg. So the generic Norco which you have contains twice as much Hydrocodone (the opioid ingredient) but less Acetaminophen than the Vicodin. I hope that this makes sense, and let me know if you need any m...

I WAS PERSCRIBED HYDROCO/APAP TAB 5-300MG VS VICODIN . I TOOK ONE AND HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION. ITCHY ITCHY ITCHY!! I CALLED THE PHARMACY AND HE SAID THE EXACT SAME INGREDIENTS WERE IN BOTH. I CALLED DOCTOR AND HE SAID THE SAME THING! I WANT TO KNOW IF I AM CRAZY FOR GETTING ALLERGIC REACTION TO HYDROCO AND WHY? ALSO THERE HAS TO BE A REASON WHY PERSCRIPTIONS HAVE EXCLUDED VICODIN? DR. OFFICE JUST CALLED ME BACK AND SAID, PLEASE WAIT FOUR DAYS UNTIL THE PHARMACY CAN RECEIVE VIDODIN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! ## Hello, Robin! How are you? Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are the active ingredients in Vicodin, so they are the same thing, you were just given a generic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side eff...

My husband takes the Hydrocodone/Apap 5-500MG Tablet by Mallinckrodt. When we went to a different drug store, they gave us Hydrocodone/Apap 10-325. The drug store says it's the same as Hydrocodone/Apap 5-500MG. This can't be true? ## Well, no, obviously not, this is clearly a different dosage of the medication. The first tablet he was receiving contained 5mgs of the narcotic Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. The new one contains 10mgs of the Hydrocodone and only 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so it is completely different and not equivalent at all. The higher dose of the narcotic could cause more severe side effects, such as: drowsiness, nausea, dizziness and constipation. In addition, it could cause him to build a tolerance or addiction faster, and when he does get the other p...

I have been taking the Sandoz version of valsartan/hctz (80/12.5) for YEARS with no problems. Recently, my pharmacy switched to the Aurobindo version. I feel like it's doing nothing (or little). I thought that the bioequivalency for generics was mandated by law. Did I get counterfeit drugs at Rite-Aid? Nevertheless, the pharmacy was skeptical but accommodating. They faxed over the request to my incredible GP whose office responded within the hour. I can now pick up my Sandoz version again. Anybody else have a similar experience? ## Hello, Kenny! How are you? Did you just feel like it wasn't working, or did you actually check your heart rate and blood pressure to find out? Generics do have to be bioequivalent. But without actually checking, after taking it for a few days, there...

Insurance made me switch over manufacturers from Amneal (600mg Ibuprofen) to Dr. Reddy's (600mg Ibuprofen). What is the difference, if any? Does one have more fillers? Is one a sodium ibuprofen and one standard, absorbed faster etc? Thanks. ## They both contain the same active ingredient, they are just manufactured by different companies. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Ibuprofen as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. How is the new tablet working for you?

My doctor took me off Lisinopril 10 MG Tab and put me on Losartan 50-12.5MG Tab because my potassium was too high. Looking at the containers each came in, I see that they both have potassium in them. How is it helping to switch me from one to the other except that the Losartan costs more? I have not been able to find out how much potassium is in each drug. ## These medications don't actually contain potassium, the listing as Losartan Potassium, just designates the precise chemical salt that the drug is derived from, not that it contains potassium in the actual sense. That said, the reason he switched you the Losartan 50-12.5mg is because the second ingredient is Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic that helps remove excess fluid from the body. By doing so, it also helps lower el...

I have been taking 24mg Hydromorph Contin for 3 years now 2 x day This does not work anymore. I was prescribed 50mg Kadian every 24hrs. They take the edge off better but after 18 hrs the pain is worse than when the Hydromorphone started to wear off. Can I take a higher dose or what would be better? ## Only your medical professional can help you decide what is safe for you. The NIH warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. How often were you told to take it? What other medications have you tried? Have you discussed this issue with your doctor?
