Ive moved to Australia from New Zealand and since arriving three months ago my face has had the worst case of acne ever. I did get a mild case of acne in high school but it got better over the years. Now since living in Australia Ive noticed extreme acne and red, puffy. itchy and dry rashes on my face. I used proactive for the first time a month and a half ago and that did help clear the pimples after a week or so but the rashes quickly spread and my face started burning. I then decided to stop using proactive and see the doctor. The doctor then prescribed me Doxycycline 50g which i have to take once every day for 6 months and also wash my face with a unscented, acne-free soap bar. My face did start to clear up but then quickly spread to other parts of my face. I did notice an improveme...

The difference is the green pill, since I've been taking them about 4 days my mouth is in such pain. I stopped using them. There is a tag on script bottle that the color and shape is different but is the same pill. The phamacy made the change are they the same. ## How many days did you take the pills so that you were cured? ## Jerry, can you please double check the markings? A tablet with marking of WW27 is listed a being blue and containing 20mgs of Dicyclomine, which is most commonly used to treat conditions such as IBS, it is manufactured by West-Ward. Thus, if that is what you are taking, it is not the Doxycycline. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you!

I have a bottle of doxycycline that expired this past March. Is this still ok to use? ## Hello, Sara! How are you? Once expired, antibiotics tend to lose effectiveness, which increases the risk of it not working adequately and causing you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if you have an infection. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

have to take doxycycline hycl 100mg cap blue oblong tablet says mutual 105 on it. Was paying 10$ for 90 then it went up to 50$ now they are charging 299$ suddenly. Isn't mutual 105 generic? Is this pricing right or am I getting robbed? ## Have you asked the pharmacy about it? It is normal for prices to fluctuate, a lot of it depends on what their supplier is getting it for, as well as your location and etc. There are also some cases where they may have a certain medication under contract, so they can offer it for a very cheap price for a certain period of time. This is often true of medications that are on $4 and $10 lists. Then once that contractual agreement has run out, they have to charge more. For example, Walgreens does this with their program, you pay to join it, but then you...

CAN I HACEA GLASS OF RED WINE WHAN TACKING THIS. AS I TAKE IT 2 TIMES ADAY FOR DEER TICK BITE. ## Doxycycline is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent various types of infections. Drinking alcoholic beverages, while taking it, could result in more severe side effects, such as the nausea, drowsiness and dizziness. Thus, that could make one glass of wine affect the same way as drinking two and etc. Therefore, if you choose to imbibe, you should proceed with caution and make sure that you are not driving or doing anything that would put you or anyone else in danger. Are there any questions?

After taking doxycycline and not remaining upright for 30 minutes and not drinking or eating enough when taking the pill, I have been experiencing heartburn. I was wondering if anybody knew how long the heartburn would go on for and what I could do to help it. ## Hello, Catherine! How are you? Sorry that you're having this problem, there are very good reasons such warnings are on these medications. What have you tried to treat it so far? Have you consulted your doctor? How often have you done this and how severe is the heartburn? I didn't find any interactions listed between it and Pepcid, which is available over the counter, but you need to check with your doctor to make sure that it's safe for you to take.

I've been taking the med to cure chlamydia and I'm on my last two days. It seems to not have been working cause I'm stilling seeing a discharge and have itchy genitals. ## Hello, Nick! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. This antibiotic can also cause yeast infections, as a side effect, so its possible that you've developed one. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. But it is also possible that you may need a stronger antibiotic or a longer course of treatment with one. Have you consulted your doctor, yet?

I have had the Jadelle implant for around 2.5 years and have only ever got the occasional very light period. Recently i went on doxycycline for my skin and all of a sudden i have had 3 periods within 6 weeks lasting 3-4 days each. Is this related? Nothing else with me seems to have changed and this is just annoying ## Hello, Simmy! How are you? Yes, it probably is due to adding the Doxycycline, though you should check with your doctor to be sure. Since this is a single hormone contraceptive that uses a synthetic form of Progesterone, it tends to be a bit unpredictable. Are there any other questions or concerns?
