Does It Go In The Eye

I have pink eye. Can I use terramicina in my eye as a salve, or just around the eye? ## I think it really depends on whether or not you have the ointment, powder or the eye drops. There should be instructions on the package, no? That's just wrong if there isn't, as from what I can tell it can be used to treat pink eye. Based on information i've gathered, the application guidelines are simple. Listed below are the indications for the ointment: "Broad-spectrum antibiotic ideal for mild bacterial eye infections Easy to use - simply apply ointment directly on the affected area" I'm assuming that the eye drops are no different other than actually dropping it into your eye. Here is an information link to the powdered form of this medication as well (it states: puff pow...

I hade shingles in the right eye four years ago and still have pain in the right side of my face and right side of my head will aspergel help this ## Hello, Alice! How are you? Have you consulted your doctor? It might be due to some nerve damage, and if that is the case, the Aspergel may not be strong enough to help. The FDA lists its typical side effects as including skin redness, irritation and rash. Are you on any other medications?

Hello, my dad is 76 years old and two months ago an embolism occurred to his right eye. The upper half of the right eye lost the vision in curtain form. He started hyperbaric oxygen therapy immediately after the embolus. After the oxygen therapy, he got positive results and the vision was almost %100 again. During the controls, nothing was found in the heart and brain, but there was %90 congestion in the left carotid and he had a carotid surgery. After surgery, embolus arised again to the same eye and he lost the vision of this eye again. Subsequently, all controls and hyperbaric oxygen therapy were repeated. At the moment right eye is almost completely blind and blurry. After the second embolus all the controls were repeated, they couldn’t find anything. Then we went to the hospital

Hi, every morning and through the day my eyes are burning, itching, and really red. I have read up on different vitamins, but was wondering if anyone has the same problem. Thanks Clare ## Lately I have had the same problem. Although an antihistamine helps with the itching, sneezing due to allergy, my eyes are quite red. Checking with my eye doctor, he suggested that my eyes are dry due to time of year and not enough moisture, so I was advised to use lubricating eye drops about 4 times a day. Picked up over-the-counter eye drops. This has helped a lot. ## Clare, I also have to advise seeing an eye doctor, rather than guessing what's wrong and trying to treat it yourself. Your vision isn't something worth risking to guess work. It may be due to allergies and dryness, like the issu...

I have pink eye in not just one eye but both now : ( Please reply with the answer. ## Hmm it depends if the pink eye is caused by a virus or bacteria. If it's viral pink eye then this won't help. What did your doc tell you? Has your condition improved or worsened since last week?

Has anyone had Botox injections for eye twiching? I have and they did not use numbing while injecting into my eye lids and surrounding eyes. I was wondering why they can not numb the area? ## I have. I don't know why they can use anything to numb it. But the pain is worth making the eye twitch stop. I'd tried everything: calcium, magnesium, potassium, saw a neurologist. Only the shots worked. ## The doctor told me that numbing would hurt worse than the shot. So I just pinch myself and don't look. I've had to get the shots every 5. -6 months for a year and a half because the eye twitch comes back. We are hoping eventually the muscle will stop on it's own. I took topirimate for a few months at a low dose a couple years ago. Then I stopped ## I don't know if my insu...

ARE IMFLAMATORY MEDICATIONS HARMFUL TO THE EYES? ## Instaflex is not an actual medication of any type, it is an over the counter supplement that is claimed to help with joint health. As such, the side effect profiles for it have not been studied, as is done for prescription medications. This company doesn't even list the full ingredients and amounts on their website, the only things they do note are that it contains Glucosamine, MSM and Hyuralonic Acid, which are contained in many over the counter products that are claimed to help your joints. As to actual NSAIDs, such as Diclofenac or Ibuprofen, visual changes and problems from them are considered serious side effects that you should contact your doctor about. I took my last dose this afternoon. I was given this for a uti. About 3 days in i stareted feeling awful....nausea, sweats, body aches. However i really just wanted my uti gone, and it was to late to call dr. Now my eyes really hurt, I have a small spot on both my eyes....I am wondering if this will go away now that i have finished meds or do i need to follow up with dr? ## It never hurts to have such issues checked out by your doctor, there is a chance these symptoms may go away, according to NIH reports, but there is a chance they might be unrelated. Has there been any change, so far? Are you on any other medications? Has your UTI cleared up? What do you mean by a spot, is it a floater, or a spot that is always present?

I am 85 years old and have a problem with my eyes constinally tearing. I had cataracs removed last year and i thought it was to do with that But I have thouht it may be caused by my thyroid please helpztxw ## Have you consulted your doctor? Unfortunately, thee is no way for anyone to pinpoint the problem from just the brief information provided in an internet post. You should have any eye exam done to determine the problem. Are you on any medications?

I used nasonex only a short while, each time I used it, it made my eyes water and burn I then I got a fungel infection in my throat, then I got cataracs, but I have light blue green eyes and was told I would never be able to prove it was nasonex ## Then that is more than likely correct, while it is known to cause such damage it is very rare and usually results from long-term usage. It is very difficult to prove such things, unless the issue occurs immediately and a doctor corroborates the suspicion that it was caused by the medication. What treatments are you currently using?

I was using Bausch + Lomb eye drops for years with good results. Then insurance companies made me switch to generic Azelastine HCI by Apotex Corp and in the past 3-years I'm sure there were other manufactures because the bottle has not always looked the same. I've discussed the terrible side effects with Generic brand. I'm told it's the same as B&L but it's not. This Apotex Corp burned or stung so bad that I jumped in the shower with my clothes on. I've always put a drop on my inside wrist and wait a day before ever putting liquid in my eye and though this is not a full proof way of knowing if the drops will burn it certainly makes me feel a little more at ease before using. I never had a broblem until generic and now I'm using/trying many over the counte...

Hi, I have been using Topamax for depression for 12 months and must admit that it has been very sucessful. The one major draw back is that I have developed a very annoying eye twitch. It only affects one eye, but is very noticeable. I was taking 100 mg twice a day, but have decreased it to 100 mg daily. The twitch has decreased somewhat, and I realize that I now have to come off this drug completely to get rid of the twitch entirely. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I read 1 other reader, but are there more? ## Sorry it took so long to reply. I had the same problem with Topamax which I use for epilepsy. It is the coating of the 100 mg for me. The 50 mg does not cause this on me, so I take 2/50 mg tablets instead. Ever heard of Topamax causing gout? ## I've developed an eye ...

I have been seeing a pain management specialist for about a year. We have tried just about every extended release along with breakthrough opioid oral medications, always inching from lowest dose to higher. But I also have severe chronic digestive problems which makes it very difficult to take oral medications . So my doctor put me on the fentanyl patch, but on day three I developed such a migraine headache I thought my eye would pop out. Is this a common side effect from fentanyl, and would it occur that long after application of the patch? It should be mentioned that on day three I also developed a case of shingles, so I am unsure which was the cause of the headache, the patch or the shingles. So my doctor put me back on the oral meds, but we're back to square one since I still hav...

I have woken in the morning with a black eye - this has happened twice within a month. I have been on Eliquis for 6 months. Could this be caused by Eliquis? ## Yes, the FDA does list odd and irregular bruising as being among the possible side effects. You may be jerking around, or moving, whilst asleep and causing yourself to experience a black eye. However, it is always a good idea to check with your doctor to be safe and make sure that there is nothing else going on that could be putting you in danger. Are you on any other medications?

I am now taking 7 x 300 gabapentin per day and am getting terrible eye problems: double and blurred vision, I am also sufering unnerving confusion, could it be a side effect of the gabapentin? ## It doesn't seem from the monograph listing, that these are common side effects: Gabepentin Side-Effect Info Click Here I would suggest you speak to your doctor and discuss this as soon as possible, it could be this drug, an illness, or a combo if you are taking something else. ## I get blurred vision with only 2 300 Mg's ## I have been taking 2400 mg (eight 300-mg tablets) a day of gabapentin for more than a year. I have a lot of double vision, though only when I'm tired (which is most of the time). Of course, I take a few other sedating medications as well. I've gotten used to ...

In the corner of my eyes is sore with redness ## @gonzo, Terramicina or "Terramycin" in english terms is an antibiotic marketed in several forms, including an ophthalmic ointment for treating eye infections specifically in animals such as horses, cattle, cats, dogs, etc... Every article of information I'm finding on the ophthalmic ointment points back to its veterinary applications, but nothing concerning human use. So with that said, I think it may be best to double check with your doctor before attempting to use it on yourself. Chances are that it might be just fine, but these days it's worth getting a professional opinion as well. eye drops that start with the letter d... two words second word start with K ## Hi terri, I've checked out several lists of various eye drop brands, and have yet to come across one that fits your description exactly. Dexamethasone (Ophthalmic) is the closest match I'm finding. This happens to be an ophthalmic corticosteroid, prescribed for swelling, itching, redness and irritation of the eyes. You can read more about it here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682869.html Other brand names I found include: Dexair, Dexacidin, and Dexasporin Hopefully this helps to narrow down your search!
