When completing the intake form for donating blood, it asks if you've taken anything with aspirin in it in the last 72 hours. I have taken ibuprofen. I need to know if ibuprofen contains aspirin? ## No, but it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that can cause some blood thinning, so it would be best to make sure they are aware that you've taken it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm allergic to aspirin and ibuprofen and I was wondering if hydrocodone acetaminophen 7.5-325 has any of that in it? Thanks ## No it does not. It's only hydrocodone and Tylenol. VICOPROFIN does have ibuprofen in it so stay away from that! All the best, HOUSE ## No it does not have any of that in it. It is two different kind of medication ## No. Hydrocodone has acetaminophen which is the ingredient in Tylenol. ## @cheeky, Yes, I agree with what everyone else said. Just to help clarify, every drug name which you listed in your message are actually different ingredients altogether. So if you are allergic to Aspiring and Ibuprofen, you might be able to take Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen (which are 2 completely different drugs). As long as your doctor is aware of your drug allergies...

Took 800mg ibuprofen & still in pain. It's been hour half & only other meds I have is 845mg BC. Can I take? ## Hello, PJ! How are you feeling? No, you really shouldn't mix them, unless your doctor specifically says that it's okay for you to do so. They are both NSAIDs, so it can increase the risk of bleeding, stomach pain and stomach ulceration. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take baby aspirin or ibuprofen with apdivo treatments? ## Aspirin and Ibuprofen should not be combined, since they are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so taking them both is basically doubling up on the same medications. The FDA warns that they may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding, easy bruising, and stomach irritation. Which one has your doctor recommended? Are these the only medications you are currently taking?

I'm on metoprolol and digitek. I had a cold so I took ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine. Would this cause thinning of blood? My nose is bleeding and eyes appear very bloodshot. ## Ibuprofen is an NSAID and while it may cause bleeding and change the way your blood forms platelets it does not thin your blood. This is pretty much a characteristic of most NSAIDs. Aspirin is the most common NSAID known to actually think the blood. ## Ibuprofen has been known to cause hemorrhage, so yes, it can cause blood thinning, and other issues, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. How severe is the nosebleed? Are there the only medications you take? How much Ibuprofen did you take? Can you please post back with more specific detail...

my mother has been prescribed the above and is worried about high blood presure and the titnus of which she has both is this a problem ? ## According to Medicinenet.com, "you should not use Melfen (ibuprofen) if you have high blood pressure, unless your doctor has explicitly told you that you can." Reason being is that ibuprofen can elevate blood pressure and contribute to water retention. I'm not sure if you meant to say "tinnitus" instead of "titnus", but an article from the University of California Irvine, states that: "Many different medicines can cause tinnitus. The most common medicines that cause tinnitus include aspirin, ibuprofen, naprosyn, among others." Ref: ent.uci.edu/tinnitus.htm With that said, I would probably want to encourage her to ...

I take one aspirin every day as a blood thinner (I'm 64 years old) About a couple of weeks another doctor precribe to me Ibuprofen for my Artritis. Is Ibuprofen a blood thinner as well? Should I keep taking my aspirin every day? Thanks, Carmen ## Hi Carmen, To answer your question, Ibuprofen also has a mild blood thinning effect that lasts a few hours. Possibly not a potent as aspirin's blood thinning effect, but viable enough to function independently of aspirin for that purpose. If you intend on only taking Ibuprofen, you can also depend certain foods to aid its blood thinning effects: livestrong.com/article/323888-list-of-blood-thinning-foods/ I hope this helps! ## One aspirin a day will not harm you regardless of your ibuprofen intake. It may well save your life, however.

Is it safe for my wife to take Ibuprofen? She had two small stomach ulcers 12 years ago caused by H Pylori bacteria ## @Richard, Based on my research, regular use of aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can actually raise your risk for stomach ulcers. Although taking NSAIDs once in a while is safe for most people. Is Ibuprofen something your wife uses often? ## She just needs effective painkillers for a short time as she recovers from a hysterectomy. She started on paracetamol + codeine, but suffered problems with constipation from the codeine.

ibuprofen 800 mg the pill is oval & white G800 on 1 side other side just plain white aspirin looking no coating or capsule ## I found a capsule white with no imprints at all on it. What is it? ## Clara, I am sorry, there is no possible way to identify it if there are no markings on it. All U.S. precription drugs, by law, must have unique imprints to allow for their identification, so it could be something over the counter, or a foreign drug. ## How many Milligram is a Ibuprofen pill with the number 18 on one side of it?

On taking either Tylenol or Advil I become wheezy, and have rapid breathing, which lasts approximately 1 hour with Tylenol but up 4 hours with Advil. I have previously been diagnosed with Aspirin and Ibuprofen sensitivity and told not to use. However, I am now experiencing similar reactions when I take Tylenol. I need an alternative to use occasionally, for fever reduction, headache aches and pains currently associated with flu.. ## Have you tried Naproxen? It's the active ingredient in Aleve and the generic or store brands of it. Learn more Naproxen details here. I'd suggest asking if it's safe for you to try it. have had dental surgery and have to avoid aspirin. Need to take painkillers. Do mefac caps contain any aspirin? ## The active ingredient in Mefac is Mefanemic Acid, this is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to treat pain and swelling. Such medications can also cause some blood thinning, just like Aspirin, so you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure they are safe for you to use at this time. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Took Ibufren which helped. Couldnt find out much about it or its aspirin content but didnt care in the end! .... thanx for the reply. x ## Ibuprofen does not contain Aspirin, it contains Ibuprofen, another NSAID. I'm sorry about the problem that you had. Oxycodone is a narcotic analgesic, so it is not related to Tylenol or any NSAID. Have been taking 2 generic Ibuprofen 200 mg each (400 total) since Tuesday around 4pm for right side back pain from a fall on Saturday night - Aspirin before that. Not working. Tried Lidocaine patches 5% - Wednesday; no relief; took Naproxen 220mg - 2 of them; still no relief; can I take Hydrocondone Acetaminophen 7.25/325 now Friday AM? And if so, how far apart from the ibuprofen which I just took again? ## Have you had this checked out? If the pain is so severe that nothing you've listed has helped, then it might be time to have some consults to find out if the fall might really have done some damage. According to NIH reports it could be due to anything from a kidney stone to a broken rib, or fractured disk. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I have a severe allergic reaction to aspirin (large hives and feinting). I have arthritis in both of my hands. My doctor gave me Tramadol which is only helping some.
