Hello. I have a terrible cough, not dry but very painful when coughing and my throat is itchy. Can I use penicillin vk to treat this? ## This is an antibiotic and should only be taken to treat a medically confirmed infection, taking it when you do not have an infection could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria, as warned by NIH reports. It's typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Has there been any change, or are you still experiencing these symptoms? I am away on vac. Three days ago I started feeling tired and when I did anything physical (stairs) I would get a fast heart rate. I started taking Ibuprofen for the head ache. Today the third day I bought took out a bottle of penicillin VK 500 mg tablets I took with me. I am also alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen 6hrs. Took temp. today 39.5 , after talking acetaminophen it has got down 37.5. One he later I took one penicillin vk5 500 mg are tablet. Hi, i have a bottle of apo pen vk 300mg and the date that they have to be thrown away is 2015/11/06. My question is are they still safe to take and are they still effective? Thank you. ## Hello, Sue! My dentist has prescribed this following a root canal. 500 MG QID. I think that I may have a sinus infection. I am 30 weeks pregnant and I was just wondering if I can take this antibiotic because it says on the label, do not take while pregnant.
