My son takes this medicine and seems to be developing breasts. I need answers. ## Are you sure that is the only medication he is on? Breast development in males isn't a side effect of Dextroamphetamine. My 5yr old was started on dextroamp amphet 5 mg 4days ago. Since he is a lot calmer and focused at school (he was very hyper and unfocused b4 which caused problems) which is good but he doesn't seem as happy as he use to be and seems to have lost a spark to him. I have been taking Adderall IR (Barr) 2 - 20mg 2x a day 80mg total per day for the past 3 yrs. My Doctor changed it to Dextroamp-Amphet ER 20 Mg caps same dosage 80mg total per day. I've been getting constant headaches, neck pain, I'm falling asleep in the middle of the day. I heard a lot about Dexedrine and how it acts the same as Adderall with out these side effects? Hey all, I take Dex IR for ADHD-C in the afternoons and it works great. I need to find an XR medication to take in the AM that works as well as my PM Dex booster. Pdoc and I have tried Adderall XR (made me fatigued, flat, and surly--I don't think my brain plays well on l-amphetamine) and Vyvanse (GI side effects and felt like a sugar pill--don't think I metabolize it correctly). I'm thinking ER Dextroamphetamine (the spansules) might be the next logical thing to try. Generics are tricky and I know there is no longer a brand name Dexedrine Spansule.
