Ive been diagnosed with erosive gastritis. Before the diagnosis I was on prilosec 20 mg for 7 months. The acid went away but I was waking up in the middle of the night in excrutiating pain that felt like a heart attack. Doc put me on 60mg of dexilant and carafate 4 times a day. It worked the first 3 weeks to reduce the acid and pain but the lump in my throat won't go away and food feels like it won't digest. Now this past week, I feel acid in my throat again after 9 months and a scraping pain throughout the day. I've been on the new meds for 5 weeks. Does it sound like I need a different medication? I feel like in want to go back on the prilosec and continue the carafate. ## What is your overall diet like? That definitely contributes to the problem and if you're continui...

After roughly 6 years of taking Dexilant 60mg my insurance will no longer cover it. Are there any OTC medications I can use to take its place?
