I am 47 yr old lady from cape town diagnosed 2007 with severe depression by DR CHris George. From 2011 I have been taking Alzam 0.5 three times a day plus Zolpiderm 20mg per night and cilift 3 times a day. Now I am very sick and the second opinion is telling me that the Alzam has been destroyed my intelligence. What musxt I do? ## Hello, From what I've read, Alzam (Alprazolam) does have various side effects that, in my opinion, could be somewhat debilitating to certain individuals over a long period of time. I don't know to what extent you feel this may have affected your intelligence, but it sounds like your best bet would probably be to talk with your doctor about tapering off and considering other alternative treatment options that may be safer for long term use. I believe th...

I have been told to check on Amlodipine, 5 mg, if it is time-released. I have been cutting my pill in half to take each half 12 hours apart. Does cutting it in half destroy its effectiveness as a blood pressure medication? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? No, Amlodipine is a regular release medication, so it is safe to cut the tablets. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry cough and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for your replies! I am still getting positive blood pressure readings by cutting the pill in half. My situation is that I quickly lost 10 lbs. from not being able to eat because of stomach pain, so I began to sense that the full 5 mg of amlodipine was too much all at once and was causing more ...

How are you? You should not stop it, without your doctor's approval and it cannot be stopped abruptly, since a sudden withdrawal may create the risk of seizures, according to the NIH. It isn't that it is a silent killer of human beings, all medications carry the risk of causing side effects and this one is no exception. Have you consulted your d...

I have been prescribed FOUR round blue 1 mg Alprazolam tablets to take one at a time for flight anxiety. Are these time-released? I've read NOT to cut time-release tablets. Thanks! ## They could be but if your doctor is prescribing 4 per day I would say no. Feel free to post the NDC # and manufacturer for further clarification ## Thanks. The Rx reads "Take one tablet by mouth for air travel." Since I'll be traveling to and from my destination on two different days, I plan to take only 1 tablet on a travel day. Had considered cutting the tablet in half as I've never taken this before. ## Thanks, Eddy. The Rx reads "Take one tablet by mouth for air travel." I,m a campus police officer, and a student found a small bottle in a bathroom. He turned it over to me, and I don't know if I should destroy it, or throw it in the garbage. ## The FDA guidelines for pill disposal is to always destroy them, regardless of what they are, before throwing them away. They recommend mixing them in with something that will degrade the pills, such as used, wet coffee grounds or kitty litter and then disposing of them in the trash. The tablets you have actually contain 0.4mgs of Nitroglycerin, which is a heart medication, used to treat problems such as Angina. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Thank you, Since there is no name, or prescription attached, I will detroy them as noted above!

Has anyone had the problem with linzess changing the structure of their hair. My hair wish shopping and healthy when I started taking linzess. ## Hello, Pam! How are you? Almost any medication can cause problems with the growth of your hair and nails, since they are fed by dead cells in our body, thus anything that could affect our cells, can cause problems with our hair and nails, according to NIH studies. Other side effects as listed by the FDA may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, bloating, and diarrhea. One of my blood pressure/heart medications has caused my nails to become very brittle, so they crack and break very easily. Not sure if it is a prescription or over the counter mouthwash. Any other suggestions as to how to replace saliva is needed. ## I know that there are artificial saliva products available just for such cases. They are also used by people who were in accidents that resulted in damage to the salivary glands. Some are available as a spray and some as drops. Your doctor should be able to prescribe it for you and most pharmacies carry it. The Miracle Mouthwash is a regional item, meaning that the name and ingredients can vary depending on where you live. Have a multitude of chronic pain issues and can not find doctor to help me.Have medical records with me. Reports from Neurologist, Rhuematologist, Pain Treatment Center, Physiatrist, MRI's, CT Scan and three years of pharmacy records. Being treated like a drug addict. Without meds for three months. (Percocet 10/325). Not functioning and very sick. Can anyone help me? ## How have you been looking for a doctor? The reason I'm asking is because the biggest mistake I see many people making in your situation is calling a new doctor and asking if they will prescribe a particular medication. If you do that, doctors and their staff will view it as drug seeking behavior and, in many cases, you won't even get in the door. What you need to do is set up an appointment with a new pain ma...

Melacine Melanoma Vaccine

A cancer vaccine is a vaccine that either treats existing cancer or prevents development of cancer.[1] Vaccines that treat existing cancer are known as therapeutic cancer vaccines.
