Defza contains the active ingredient Deflazacort, which is a steroid class medication that's used as an anti-inflammatory and an immune suppressant. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and fluid retention. ## My son's doctor has prescribed defza 6 mg. He asked him to take 1 in the morning and 1 at night for one week and the next week to only take 1 in the morning. How safe is defza 6 mg for my 13 year old son for his eczema disease? I am 53 years old women patient of Rheumatoid Arthritis since 1987. Taken infliximab two times (1991 and 2006). At present I am taking Arava 10, Methotrexate, HCQS-200, Defza 6 and other medicine for blood pressure and thyroied. I am taking Defza 6 for last one year. Now my skin is becoming dark and eye power is gaining. How long I can continue Defza 6. Any other sugestion? ## According to your advice I have reduced the Defza 6 dose to alternative day and also reduced the dose of HCQS. Pains are increasing but trying to reduce the pain by Paracitamol. I shall reduce the doses of above medicine gradually. ## Now I am taking Defza 1mg daily. I have stopped HCQS. Now I am taking Saaj 500 instead of HCQS. Pain is tolerable.

I have rheumatoid arthritis. I've been taking defza 6mg for more than one and half years. I am now gaining weight (10 kg). Can I stop taking it? When I stop taking the tab will I get back to my normal weight and when I stop immediately will I have severe pain? Please advise. ## This contains the active ingredient Deflazacort, which is a steroid class medication, so after being on it for such a long period of time, you cannot abruptly stop taking it. My mother is diagnosed with lichen plaunus, and she is a known patient of type II diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidism, aged 71yrs. She is advised to take defza 24mg by her doctor. Please advise, can she take this medicine along with her other medicines? ## What other medications is she taking? Defza is a steroid class medication, the NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fluid retention, and acne. There is also a risk of it causing elevated blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar levels.

hi there i have been diagnosed type 2 diabetes 5 months ago . i am also taking defza 6mg for parotitis since 2 months. so my diabetologist advised to take insulin since then as it is a steroid. my latest hba1c is 9.3 and RPG is 281. now doctor advised to take cetapin xr 1000mg twice daily after breakfast and dinner along with insulin for next 2 months. my insulin dosage is lantus 16 units after breakfast and novorapid 6 units each after breakfast and lunch and 4 units after dinner. my question is whether i could take cetapin 1000mg twice daily along with above insulin dosage or not. is there any sudden decrease in sugar levels with this combination of both tablet and insulin dosage.

I have spinal stenosis.Back pain as well as pain radiates to right leg,while walking after 5 minutes or so. Bypass surgery done during 1994.Ejection factor 33%. Started taking Defza 6 mg tablets once a day.Considerable improvement in back pain as well as pain radiating to left leg. Dear sir, I am 34 yrs male -72 kg & have been suffering from arthritis disease for the last 12 yrs. Now i am taking indocap sr 75 mg & sazo 1000 mg, ultracet, cyra -d tabs are twice daily. After taking this medicine 15 to 20 days no result found. Again i consulted the doctor and he told me to take defza 30 mg per day for one month. But I'm afraid to take 30 mg per day. I had replaced one knee in 2007 and was getting on well. In 2015 I replaced the other kneeEven after get physio therapy by experienced guy , pain and swelling continued.Macvestin 500, Dulacin C,Saaz DS 1 mg , Fluda 10 were given. Then Ezact 120 and Premet 8 mg for 10 days and 4 mg for 2o days were prescribed but swelling and pain did not subside. The another orthopedic surgeon prescribed Ultraced and E Cod. Nothing helped.
