All the professionals say there are no difference between generics. I just switched from Dava 1 milligram alprazolam to the same made by Activis. The Dava was putting me to sleep for 2 hours at the most. The Actavis just knocked me out for 9 hours and I still feel tired. Would someone explain that? ## Hi, Chris! How are you? However, post # 1 is correct about the possibility of either dosage varying by plus or minus 20%. From what I understand, that's the amount of wiggle room generic meds are allowed to have. Furthermore, this doesn't even take into account the different inactive ingredients (including their quality), which play a known role in how well we metabolize/absorb the tablet as a whole. I'm wondering if my new script of dava alprazolam is a quality generic? ## All generics available on the U.S. market have to fall within the same acceptable quality guidelines, which is being within plus or minus 20% of the amount of the active ingredient in the name brand. The only thing you can really do is try it and see how well it works for you, because some people react differently to those fluctuations, regardless of how small they are. Dava Xanax 0.5 mg SUCKS! They're yellow ovals marked with an S and 901. They've been sued by Justice department in the past (2010) for distributing drugs that were half strength. We normally take 1.5 mg qd, but are allocated #3 tabs 0.5 mg qd. Even taking #3 we had no effect. What ever company makes oval peach coloured tabs have always been efficacious. I have taken small dosage of Alprazolam 0.5 ER in morning and 0.5 regular at bedtime for years. I have always had the generic Dava and it has worked fine. Now the pharmacy is changing to SunPharma. I refused it after reading about some manufacturing shutdowns. I am considering Costco shipping mine since it so much less expensive. They carry Boca generic. Walmart carried Purpac or Actavis. I have been getting the 2mg Greenstones the last few years and they work much better than the Actavis. Now i read that greenstones were changed back in early 2014. Is it people that take these to feel high or people who really need them for anxiety and nothing else? Regardless if they have been changed they're still much better Actavis and I have heard mixed results on Sandoz. Dava seems to be crap. Took it once (looks to be from Endo who bought out Qualitest). the Alprazolam 05 are ALWAYS peach color they messed up last month and gave me white ones, they changed them to what they were suppose to be but this month they are yellow and they got them from the same mfr. So I have been on Greenstone Alprazolam for over 10 years through CVS. I always take them as prescribed. Never abused them. They always worked quickly and brought me down from any attack.. Out of the blue 3 months ago CVS doesn't carry them anymore. I tried the new brand they had (Dava), and they were awful!. Did nothing for my Panic Disorder. So Greenstone told me to go to a Ma and Pa Pharmacy, so I did and they ordered them. I was elated. So I get them and took it right away. I have just been changed to this brand in two mg pills. Light green in a bar shape. I though it was ok at first but it gets hot here in Kansas but I can take it. I began to notice a very high intolerance to the humidity. After about a week if stepped outside I started feeling sick. Later if I stepped into the sun I became very ill. I've been taking dava brand xanax for a year, the 0.5 mg. This batch I got recently has a strong chemical taste and odor to them and taste horrible than the usual I would get. I was prescribe alprazolam 1mg, by my doctor. I always been taking 0.5 mg peach pill made by Sandoz, always feel good on them. I moved and doctor was over hour away, he advise me to split the pill in half to make it 0.5 mg, this way I will have supply for longer period of time. They only have 3 scores in them not 4. I think they say "S 90 3" on them. But theyre def very good.
