I'm a Parkland patient that's been diagnosed with degenerative facet arthritis. My MRI shows moderate stenosis in C3-4, 6,7. Mild disc bulge in C3-7. My PCP has scheduled an appointment with the Pain Management Dept. but the appointment isn't until September. I need some relief now. Is there anyone that will prescribe me something stronger than Tramado until I can get into the Pain Management Clinic? Please help. ## Dear Rick, Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I realize that you posted this back in May earlier this year, so I don't know if you managed to find a solution yet... However, concerning potential treatment options, unfortunately there's no way of knowing what any doctor is or isn't willing to prescribe ahead of time, since that is based on their own d...

I was on Topamax years ago under a doctor that is no longer practicing. I lost a great amount of weight. I am wanting to get back on it but don't know of a doctor that prescribes it for weight loss in the Dallas area. Does anybody know one? ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe it, there aren't any special "Topamax doctors" that you have to see. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, you could discuss it with them to see if they will prescribe it, or refer you to someone that will help. Topamax is classified by the FDA as being an antiseizure medication that is also approved to prevent migraines. It wasn't originally intended to be used for weight loss, that turned out to be an unexpected side effect that's been of great b...

Looking for a Doctor in the Dallas Texas area that will give Xanax? Just moved here and am looking for a new Doctor. If someone knows of one please let me know. Appreciate it. ## Hi BB! Sometimes PCP doctors r reluctant 2 prescribe Benzodiazopines. But, there r some who will. I'm on klonopin and my Dr. wouldn't prescribe them 2 me. So, sometimes u may have 2 go and see a psychologist. Good Luck! ## Doctor Michael Tran, (214)-346-9999/Garland TX, Beltline @ Coit

looking for a cash only doctor or clinic in dallas texas that prescribes loracets or loratabs ## Almost all doctors and clinics will accept cash for their services if someone doesn't have insurance, or would rather pay that way, than use their insurance. It does not, however, make the transaction untraceable. Your information and the information on whatever narcotic is prescribed, if any, would still be completely logged and reported by the doctor/clinic, as well as by the pharmacy where you had it filled. The only thing that would be avoided by doing it cash only, would be having your insurance company know what you're taking. Does anyone know of any such places in the area? ## Did you ever find the cash only doctor? I am just curious, looking for the same actually. I have insu...

I've been dealing with severe anxiety and can't function on my daily activities. Feeling really nervous and scared for no reason and sometimes I feel shortness of breath. What's really bad is I can't sleep well at night, so I'm looking for a doctor to prescribe something to treat my anxiety and help me relax. I'm located near Dallas, TX. ## I can't speak to a Doctor for you or tell you they would prescribe anything. You have to present yourself in person and establish a Doctor Patient relationship. If things get really bad try the ER ## Eddy is correct. Your best bet is to see a new doctor, but not ask for any specific medications, because they might view that as being drug seeking. Xanax is a controlled substance that carries the risk of being habit forming,...

My doctor that prescribed me Norco & Xanax RETIRED. I am looking for a compassionate doctor in the N Dallas, TX area that will prescribe these. Don't want to have to go to a pain clinic. ## Hello, Suzi! How are you? Unfortunately, due to the new restrictions set forth by the DEA last year, you'll likely need to see specialists now for both of these medications, it'll be very difficult to find a new PCP that will prescribe them for you. That likely also means one doctor for the Xanax and another for the Norco. According to the FDA, both of these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects that may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area that ...

How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Due to the new regulations and requests made by the DEA, in order to have pain medications prescribed, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. A general practice physician won't be able to prescribe them for you. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Can an...

Methadone and oxycodone 15mg in the Dallas Salem Oregon area. ## I need a doctor in Salem or Dallas ore gon that will continue prescribing me methadone and oxycodone. ## Hi Tanja, Have you tried asking your current doctor for a referral? I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in locating pain management doctors within your general area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links a...

I've been on 150mcg fentanyl patches for the past 9 yrs and my doc in west tx just cut me off without reason or warning. Haven't been able to find ANY DR to prescribe fentanyl so I'm wanting to try subutex (not suboxone - due to terrible side effects). PLEASE HELP. IN CHRONIC PAIN DUE TO MANY SPINAL SURGERIES. ## Hello, Gumdrop! How are you? Part of your problem might be due to looking for a doctor to prescribe Fentanyl, rather than just looking for a new doctor. If you're contacting doctors and asking if they'll prescribe any specific medication, they'll usually just see that as drug seeking behavior and tell you no. And if you require a medication like this for long-term chronic pain, you'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist, since the ne...

I had chronic (cluster) migraines since I was 7 years old. I'm 62 now and have been on social security due to migraines for 5 years. My doctor is retiring at the end of July. I've been on up to 4 bottles of stadol per month for about 6 years. Stadol and fioricet have been the only relief I have gotten. I do have to go to ER about 6 times a yeae. If anyone knows of a doctor or pain management clinic in the Dallas, Texas area please let ne know. ## Hello, Lynn! How are you? The easiest thing to do would most likely be to ask your current doctor to refer you to a colleague. It will be much faster and easier to get in with a new doctor that way and get the help you need. The Stadol is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such ...

I'm in Dallas Texas, looking for a doctor who will prescribe Vicodin. I spent money on several visits just to be told they don't write for it. Help I only have a few pills left. Got any other suggestions? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. However, if you look at the FDA website, you'll see that all medications containing Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen were changed to schedule 2 back in October, so you'll need to see a pain management specialist, if you require it on a long-term ongoing basis. General practice doctors won't write for it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Additionally, ...

I had a serious car accident a few years back. The hospital put me on methadone. I'm having to go to a clinic daily and most everyone there takes methadone for addiction issues. I really would live to see a private doctor that can help with my pain med and other physical issues due to the car accident I had in Houston. I'm back home in Dallas Tx. Please help if you have some info. Thanks! ## Hello, Robin! How are you? Unfortunately, with the clinic in your records, no regular doctor is going to be able to prescribe it for you. I know you weren't going for an addiction issue, but that's basically what it looks like and it's illegal for a regular doctor to treat for that. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effec...

Looking for a doctor who Prescribes soma in DFW area, preferably Garland or Plano or Richardson. I’ve been on soma for eight years through my PCP but unfortunately the practice he belongs to has closed down. I went to pain management doctor today and the charges are $500 a visit and does not prescribe some. I can’t take any other muscle relaxers. ## I really feel Texas is limiting the rights of their citizens, and Abbott doesn't care. Trying to set the law of the land with that Abortion Pill, and now wont even let doctors prescribe Soma. I have a file of damage done to me that requires strong meds, but because they are internal and I look normal on the outside I have a hard time getting the meds I need. Does anyone know a liberal Dr. in the Dallas area. I have records. Thanks JR ## The problem likely doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they can't see the damage, because there are always medical tests that can prove it, as well as your medical history. The problem probably stems from the fact that they have to be extremely careful about prescribing liberally, because all such prescriptions are monitored by the government and they have to be able to account for each one and their reasons for prescribing. Have you considered just going with a pain management doctor, or clinic? That is usually the best be...

Is there any Dr. in the Dallas Ft.Worth area that prescribes narcotics without making you feel like a drug attic. Also one that is reasonably priced ## The way things are going right now and with some new regulations being put in place, your best bet is most likely going to be to see a pain management specialist, if you require them for long-term ongoing pain management. There are limits being placed on how long general practitioners and surgeons can prescribe them, except for certain specific exceptions. There has been a great effort going on to try to transition people to the care of a specialist, whenever possible. Have you looked into any pain management clinics in the area, yet? ## I need one too

If you require such a strong narcotic for pain management, you'll need to see a pain management specialist and if you're going to doctors and just asking if they'll prescribe it, they'll usually see that as being drug seeking behavior and just tell you no.
