I have been taking cymbalta now for 6 weeks my dr upped me from 30mg to 4g 3 weeks ago. I feel very down in the morning still & jittery symptoms seem to get better as the day goes on, however I do take .125mg oh klonapin if needed for anxiety. My question is do you think upping to 60mg will help?? I really don't want to come off them as tried so many!!!! Please any help or advice very much appreciated. ## Hello, Phoebe! How are you? It would be best to give the current dose time to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, to see how much it will help you, before making a decision to raise it, again, or not. It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. How long h...

Hi. I have been on 60 mg Cymbalta for anxiety before with great success (which is why I stopped because I felt so good). Anyway a year later I am having another episode with anxiety and was put back on Cymbalta 30 mg. I was only on that for 8 days and then switched to the 60 mg. I am finding some increased anxiety (but within my body not mind) on the increase and it has been 9 days. My Dr. thinks I should go back down to 30 for three weeks but I almost feel like now that I have been on the 60 for 8 days the symptoms will subside any day and I don't want to start over at 30? Has any one had a similar experience. Replies would be greatly appreciated . Please only positive feedback, no horror stories, I don't think I could handle that right now. THank you! ## Though I haven't b...

I forgot to take my tablet last night at 6pm and I took one at 10am this morning when I remembered to take it. What time should I take it tonight? Also I am feeling very nauseous - is there something I should do in order to feel better? I have had some neurofen but the headache is not going away at all. Also I am dizzy. ## Hope you are better by now. Resume normal dosage when you miss one. Try saltines for your stomach. I use ibuprofen for headaches and body aches. Ask your doc about dizziness. I take Cymbalta before bed. ## I was told to take it at 6 pm when I get home from work. I only get dizzy when I forget to take it and feel like crap the next day and have to take myself to bed and don't like driving when I feel like this. What are saltines? ## Saltines are crackers like Premi...

I have been on a variety of antidepressants over the last 7 years, most recently Cymbalta for the last 18-24 months. From Nov 2013 - Nov 2014 I had been taking 90 MG daily. While my dose increase from 60-90 MG helped at first, after a very short time my skin/face became horrible and no matter what I have done for the last year nothing has helped. But I stuck with it because I was mentally/emotionally feeling better. Then last summer/fall it had gotten to the point where I no longer felt the meds were helping me at all - in fact, I physically was feeling horrible majority of the time and I no longer felt any benefit of taking it (no energy, no motivation, nauseous, sick at times, headaches, horrible sweating and I was ALWAYS hot, memory loss and confusion) - so with my drs help I began t...

I've been on Cymbalta for 5 years now. I went from 30mg to 90 mg. Back down to 60mg. The reason is I felt it no longer helped & the side effects out weighed the good, but then again its been awhile. Cymbalta is the only medication that has totally worked for my panic attacks & social phobias. But for about the last 2-3 years now I've gained at least 30lbs, my ears ring so loud, pain in my joints & insomnia. Oh and yes my scalp itches like crazy & horrible dreams. Tomorrow im going to 30 mg, until i have this out of my body, and find another answer. I'm scared but there needs to be another answer. ## Hello, Martha! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you've had. What else have you tried? Was Prozac (Fluoxetine) one of them? It's an SSRI ...

Jan 1st, I had a severe drug reaction in Las Vegas, had to go to the ER. The ER doc gave me Ativan IV. Then he sent me home on Ativan 1 mg, I was wondering when the pain would stop, also taking Cymbalta, Celexa, Darvocet, Tramadol, I started taking a half of Ativan 1mg a day, Ativan 1 mg before bedtime with my Cymbalta and I have been sleeping like a baby. It has controlled all my back pain and nerve pain down both legs and in both knee's. I am feeling good enought to take on the world. Try the Ativan with Cymbalta. It is a God's Blessing Thank you, Cinderella ## Taking the Cymbalt at bedtime with the Ativan does not keep y ou awake? They prescribed Trazadon for my sleep and told me to take Cymbalta in the a.m. boy, I am messed up but good. thanks

What happens if I drink wine with Cymbalta? I like my wine. ## Well it really depends on your dosage, your alcohol tolerance, your metabolism and etc. Cymbalta can cause drowsiness in some people and alcohol can intensify that effect. In some meds, alcohol can also affect the absorption rate in your body, making you get too much or too little of the necessary drug. However, as long as you aren't taking huge doses of the drug and getting drunk every day, you will probably not have any severe problems. If you are concerned, speak with your doctor or pharmacist first and they can provide you with more information.

I have been taking 120mgs. of cymbalta for yrs. for depression, I also have chronic pain, it does Nothing for my pain whatsoever. ## Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SNRI antidepressant. It has been shown to help some people with pain, however, there is no medication that works for everyone person that takes it. It also may not help your pain if you have been on the same dosage for a long period of time, because your body is used to this dosage. Is your doctor providing other treatment for your pain? ## yI don't know what to do next, I am in a LOT of pain.es my Dr. prescribes Norco for my pain.I also just got steroid shots in my back, which helped at first(it was great) but after about 3 days it stopped.

I'm a 37 year old man in outback australia. In 2012 my gp prescribed me cymbalta. 30mg then 60 and rapidly up to 120mg daily. Towards the end of last year I was suffering withdrawals earlier and earlier every day from the drug which worried me a lot. So in November last year I began to wean off them, by bead counting. Where I filled my medication each 60mg capsule contained 12 beads. So I dropped one bead, then after a length of time when I felt ok I'd drop another. Currently as of today I'm on 8 beads (down from 24) which equates to 40mg. I should mention I took cymbalta in the first place due to a crippling anxiety period I had. My psychiatrist has said that once we get to 30 I can cross to Prozac. It has taken a long long time to get here and the side effects from the pro...

Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SRNI antidepressant and yes, it can cause some symptoms such as this is, if it is suddenly withdrawn, rather than tapered. But you should check with your doctor to be certain of what's causing the symptoms. Learn more:

Just prescribed Cymbalta again. Mine just expired 02-2016. Is it still safe for me to take it? It's not opened and it was stored in a dark dry cupboard. ## Hello, Janet! How are you? Medications do not become dangerous, once expired, but they can lose efficacy, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I took Cymbalta that was expired and was EXTREMELY DIZZY and couldn't focus. ## I have a bottle of Cymbalta from 2016. Is it still good to take? How long can you keep Cymbalta before it expires? Thank you. ## I have symbalta 30 mg that is...

Cymbalta side effects. Have taken cymbalta for degen. Joint decease and severe backback(3surgeries in nine month, the last one, missylower fusion with side rods at base) i seem to be getting no benefit for pain from this drug and reading about all the side effects, i'm stopping it. Second week, no ill effects. Next stopping the neurontin. Tired of taking all these drugs with no relief. ## Hello, Missy! How are you? I am very sorry that you're so miserable! Yes, these usually only help with certain types of nerve pain and it sounds like you may have more than that going on. Do they have you on any actual regular analgesics?

Going back to Prozac after 10 mos. of cymbalta. Reason? Shortly after starting cymbalta I experienced increasing lack of energy and edema in my legs with weeping, sores and ulcerations. I continue to treat the edema under care. I take one dose of lasix each morning. This reduces some edema, not all. Weeping, sores, elastic compression hose are all a big part of my life. Scheduling activities to live a normal life is nearly impossible. The quality of my life is depressing. Is Prozac going to help or should I look to something else? ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? What condition is being treated? Many people do successfully take Prozac to treat depression and anxiety. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight loss. However...

Does Cymbalta work? ## I tried Cymbalta and it worked well for endurance and pain but not so well for depression so I had to go back to Effexor and Wellbutrin. For endurance and pain I take an Ixel or milnacipran every other day (gotten from a British source). It is an antidepressant that is supposed to be equal in enhancing serotonin and norepinephrine.

Has anyone stopped feeling withdrawal symptoms after quitting Cymbalta? If you're considering starting this medication, don't! It's a narcotic. There are better non-narcotic meds. ## How long have you been withdrawing after 60 hours last dose? ## Cymbalta is not a narcotic. Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and if you've been taking it for awhile, it is normal to feel some withdrawal effects if you stop abruptly, because of the way it acts on brain chemicals. Learn more Cymbalta details here. Normally, these medications should be stopped via a slow taper to prevent the worst of these effects. But if you do stop suddenly and have been taking it for a year or more, then it can take over a month for your brain chemicals to b...

Just started this medication, one 30mg capsule and I had the most excruciating burning stomach pain. Within hours I had hot and cold sweats and for 5 days unable to eat or sleep and feeling so very ill. My GP gave me Peptac Liquid which barely helped. Never again! ## I was on cymbalta60 for neuropathy from my cancer treatment. I truly felt like running infront of a bus. I stuck with it for a little bit but to no avail. Coming off of it was just as bad if not worse. Be very very careful. It is for but a few people.

I am currently taking 600mg Lyrica and 60 mg Cymbalta. 10 mg Tramadol as needed. How long does someone have to stay on Lyrica for FM, DDD, Stenosis, Pain Management (from MVA 30 year old Cervical & Back Injuries). ## There is really no set time that anyone has to stay on it, per se, it's really dependent on how well it works for you and what you and your doctor decide is right and safest for you. Has it been helping your pain? Are you experiencing any problematic side effects? ## Its seems to be working. They got me up to 600mg per day. Weight gain is scaring me as I have always been thin. I do get the electric buzz'es up my neck if you know what I mean. (Like Gabapentin). Will I have to take this for life?
