I am 26 years old and I've never taken birth control. My husband and I have always used condoms. I was prescribed this birthcontrol but am worried due to the lack of reviews. I am hoping someone has had some sort of experience they can share. I'm hoping this brand of birth control doesn't cause too many problems and scare me away from birth control all together. Any info/experience would be greatly appreciated! #supportyourlocalgirlclub ## I wouldn't recommend this birth control. I was on the former version of Minastrin for years but was just forced to switch to Mibelas since it is cheaper for my insurance. The switch was terrible. I'm having symptoms I never had before like depression and acne. I'd stay away. ## According to FDA reports, oral contraceptives can ...

I switched from Sprintec to Lomedia 2 months ago and I have not gotten my period in 2 months. Me and my bf use condoms as well and I haven't missed a pill. Not having any symptoms of pregnancy but I am still worried. ## Hello, Emily! How are you? That is normal for some women taking oral contraceptives, some will skip periods, or not get any. If you're concerned, please speak to your doctor, but it's most likely nothing to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, irritability, headache, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Just started Chantix 2 weeks ago and now my period is 3 days late. I take birth control faithfully and also use condoms, so very unlikely to be pregnant. Can't find anyone else talking about this side effect though. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Yes, the FDA does warn that is can cause menstrual disorders, which can include anything from delayed menses, up to full stoppage of menses. Its other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, constipation, heartburn, and vaginal discharge. Ref: Chantix Information Is there anything else I can help with?

I started taking Althea pills on Aug. 3. My last menses was July 24. At the same time we used a condom on the 3rd of August and always have contact using condoms. Until now I have not had my menses yet. I'm afraid because my menses always comes on the 20th of every month. Any chance of getting pregnant? ## Hello, Belinda! How are you? Have you checked for pregnancy, yet? Regardless of the precautions used, there is always a slight chance of still getting pregnant, if you're engaging in intercourse. Doubling up on the methods used means the chances of that being the problem aren't very high, but better to check and reassure yourself. If you're not pregnant, the delay in your period could be caused by any one of many different factors, from taking the Althea to your just b...

My implanon expired a month ago And I've noticed horrible headaches and night time nausea. I cannot be pregnant because my husband and I started using condoms before it expired. Any advice? I cannot afford to get it removed right now, I have no health insurance. Thanks ## Just like when taking any other medication, withdrawal of contraceptive hormones can cause withdrawal effects, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, PMS-like symptoms and spotting. However, it would be best to have things checked out, as soon as possible. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I had the nexplanon for 6 years (2 terms) and it's still in my arm. It expired on Dec. 6th. It's now Jan. 12th and I've had a regular period since maybe 6 months before it expired. And it ...

Hi, I started taking the althea pill last night, but i had intercourse on the same night and by the next day without using any contraceptives like withdrawal or condoms, but it's still within the 7 days period after my menstruation. Am i still protected against pregnancy? ## If you started taking them on the first or second day of your period, then you are protected against pregnancy, however, if you started it on any day later than that, there may be a chance that you are pregnant and you should have yourself check for it, according to NIH reports. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. When did you start taking it? ## I had my period aug 21 and started with althea aug 28...at first 7days of taking...

So I started my first pack of lo loestrin fe on the 3rd and on the 16th I started spotting and It still hasnt stopped (todays the 25th) me and my boyfriend do not use condoms just the bc so should I be worried? I started spotting the day I was supposed to start my period. ## Hello, Baby! How are you? DId you start them on the first day of your period? If not, then you weren't immediately protected from pregnancy. If you start them at any other point in your cycle, you have to take them for 7 days, before they are fully effective. You're only immediately protected if you start taking them on the first day of your period. Have you consulted your doctor? Spotting can be normal, while your body is adjusting to the hormones, but it's best to get yourself checked out, just in case.

I have been on Lo Loestrin for one year and a half and never have missed a pill. I had headache and fell asleep so completely forgot to take blue pill #6 and remembered 10 hrs later, which I took...we don't use condoms, so should I be worried? ## Hi, Esther! How are you? 10 hours late isn't really considered missing a pill, you've generally got a window of 12 to 24 hours to take it. They just really try to stress taking it 'on time' to try to keep women in the habit of taking them all the time, so they don't miss any. Once something becomes routine, it's kind of automatic, which lessens the risk of pregnancy occurring due to actually missing tablets. You should double check with your doctor to be sure, but usually, there's nothing to worry about, as long ...

My pharmacist gave me Philith today. I have been taking Balziva for about 2 years. I'm concerned because I have heard that when you start taking a new birth control pill, you need to have a back up (such as condoms) for the first month. I know that the two pills both have some of the same ingredients, but are all of the ingredients the same? ## Hi, Debbie! Sorry about the confusion. As long as the dosage is the same, they are basically interchangeable. You can just go ahead and take the new one and you don't have to start all over, you'll still be protected from pregnancy. The need for back up is only if you take a break from them, are completely new to taking them, or are switching from one form of contraceptive to another, such as from the pill to a patch. You should doubl...

Birth control, also known as contraception and fertility control, refers to methods or devices used to prevent pregnancy.[1] Planning and provision of birth control is called family planning.[2] Safe sex, such as the use of male or female condoms, can also help prevent transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.[3][4] Contraceptive use in developing countries has cut the number of maternal deaths by 44% (about 270,000 deaths averted in 2008) but could prevent 73% if the full demand for bir...

i have missed my dronis 30 tablet for 3 days. now it had started an early period. what to do now? ## Hi, at this point you are no longer protected against pregnancy, so you'll need to use some other back up method of birth control for awhile, such as condoms, or abstain. It is also advisable to just start a new pack of pills, you will be protected from pregnancy again after you have taken them continuously for 7 days in a row. Are there any other questions I can help with?

Hi I've been experiencing delayed periods while on Oralcon. My period is very regular but since November it's been delayed for a month. I got my period in December and now it's late again. I've been taking my pills on time and using condoms to be safe. I've been experiencing swollen breasts and they are very sensitive. I've been getting migraines usually a sign in due for my period. I'm very worried. Please help ## Late or skipped periods can be a side effect or hormonal contraceptives and usually aren't anything to worry about. However, since you are concerned, you should contact your doctor so they can check things out for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 4 months now. I always bled every other week so I was never afraid of missing a period because I got then all the time. However, last month I missed my period which I read is normal for this birth control. We use condoms and pull out. When I missed my period I still took the two white and two brown pills. I still have not had my period and it's been a week since I've missed and took those pills. Do the brown pills still protect from pregnancy if you did not start your period? Or are they just sugar pills and I should be worried now of maybe being pregnant because they weren't actually birth control? ## I forgot to mention that we do not always begin with a condom but by the time he finishes, we've put one on and he still pulls out. ## ...

Hi. I have been on Diane35 for a couple of years now. I stopped taking it in March 2014 so that I could conceive in May and give birth in 2015 February and it actually worked. I am now planning to have my second child and I had stopped taking Diane in March 2016 and my husband and I decided to use condoms for the month of April and try conceive in May. I changed my mind in regards to getting pregnant after my last periods at the beginning of May and took Diane35 for 3 days, a tablet each day and stopped. Reason being I now want to get pregnant. Is it a must that I complete taking the 21 pills then try conceiving or can I try conceiving without completing the other 18 pills that are left? Kindly assist. ## Hello, Penzi! How are you? No, you don't have to finish the pill pack, it'...

Hello, I just read in the instructions inside of the box of Althea pills that drinking althea together with Isoniazide may take effect. I need Isoniazide because I am under treatment for tuberculosis, and I just had a boyfriend and I personally decided to take pills as contraceptive instead of condoms. I just took my 1st pill today. Is that okay while I am under treatment for TB? Your response is much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm 16 and on Lo Loestrogen FE, I've been on it for probably 9-10 months. My period is always irregular, and last month I had it 10 days early for about 1-3 days and then nothing on the sugar pill days. Now, the following month, my period is currently 2 days late and I'm freaking out. My boyfriend always uses condoms and we check them before throwing out so I know they have never broken. I have bad anxiety and during my last period I was writing 10 IB (very advanced) exams, making me extremely stressed, and the first two days I've expected this period I was on a cadet training weekend which is waking up at 6am and a much much different schedule. I've read these are both things that could mess me up? I have no pregnancy symptoms and have freaked myself out over pregna...

Hi, I've been on Lo Loestrin for the past month and a half or so. For the past couple days, I have been kinda sloppy with taking my pills on time. I'm supposed to take them at 1pm, but I forgot until about 4 pm. I have done this twice this week, actually yesterday and today, should I be worried about using condoms next time I have intercourse within the next week, or is it close enough to the normal time that I don't have to worry too much? ## Hello, Abby! How are you? No, you should be fine, unless your doctor says otherwise. There's generally a window of 12 to 24 hours, before it's actually considered that you missed a pill, so taking them a couple hours late is usually considered fine. Typical side effects to OCs may include nausea, headache, bloating, irregular b...
