Severe depression taking 4 mg of clonazepam with 60 mg of Cymbalta. Also, having had 5 spinal fusions (4 posterior, one anterior), taking 3 to 4 hydrocodone 500 7500 per day. I get very depressed and suicidal. Is this a bad combination? ## It sounds like it's a bad combination for you! Have you discussed it with your doctor? Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it's an SNRI antidepressant and the Clonazepam is a Benzodiazepine and both of them can backfire, in some people, and have the opposite effect of what they are supposed to do. On top of that, you're adding the narcotic Hydrocodone, which can definitely have depressant effects.

I've been on Clonidine for about 6 months .2mg three times a day. I asked my Doctor if he can change my medication. He gave my Hydralize 50mg to help me when off it and told me to reduce the dose of Clonidine from .2mg to .1mg. Is this a good plan? ## Hello, Rami! How are you? I have been on clonidine now for approx 10 months, for high blood pressure. The doctors had tried several other medications but I had so many reactions and issues we decided that the clonidine patch would work best and it has. Yes there is some fatigue and some up and down numbers but in general I have done well. MY BP was all stress related , no non medical reason. So in the past couple of months have been able to alleviate most of the stress (refinance) and I started 500mg magnesium daily and within a month my BP is getting lower and lower and lower. I was wearing 4mg of clonidine and taking (2) 1mg pills during the day as needed. Now I am down to only 2mg a day and still my BP is staying below 115/64 which is vampire state for me. Me and my boyfriend decided we were going to do a binge on pills. He took 20 clonazapam 1 mg and 7 hydrocodone 5/500 in a period of 12 hours...this was on October 11th 2012 he slept great and was functioning properly. He left my house at 8 and went and drank at our friends house. Our friend said he couldn't carry on a two minute conversation without falling asleep. I am a diabetic and hypertension patient for the last 20 years. My glucose fluctuates from 45mg to 500mg. I am taking 3 Insulin injections daily. My doctor feels it may be due to tension and depression and has prescribed "clonotril-0.5" to help me get relief from the depression. I have been taking clonazepam for over a month now for restless leg syndrome {.5mg}. The first 2 weeks they worked really well then my dr also put me on imipramine 25-50 mg at night to help me sleep but it makes the rls worse and the clonazepam doesn't even relax me anymore also on Wellbutrin 2x daily. ## I took a few different prescriptions for restless leg syndrome before being sent to a Neurologist. Clonazepam has a half-life ranging from about 30 to 50 hours, which means it would be 150 to 300 hours, before it's out of your body. Thus, you may still experience a greater intensity of the side effects if you drink alcohol, you may feel more nausea, dizziness and drowsy than normal. One drink might affect you as if you'd had 2 and so on. Thus, it would really be best to avoid alcohol for awhile after taking it. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming. Age 88 female with pacemaker, has bp of 130 /50... Is low diastolic a problem?? Meds are 40 mg Micardis and twice a day of 5 mg Plendil. Has sciatic nerve problem. Taking .5 mg of clonazepam nightly to sleep. ## It really depends on whether or not it is causing you any symptoms, according to the NIH, such as dizziness, headache, or fainting. Are you experiencing any such symptoms? I also take blood pressure medications and my cardiologist told me that there was no need to worry, unless you are experiencing such problematic symptoms.
