I've been taking citalopram for just over a week and I've got the shakes and my walking has gotten slower. Also, I tend to forget things. I am feeling washed out and tired. I'm not bothering with my appearance as I can't be bothered to even cook myself a hot meal. I'd rather live on crisps and snacks. Is this normal or does it get better with time? ## No, this is NOT normal. It sounds like you are having a bad reaction to the medication and you should contact your doctor immediately to inform them. They will want to rule out other causes and if it is the medication, you may need to try something else. Have you contacted them, yet? ## Hi. I was on Citalopram from August 2017 to June 2018. I decided to taper off of them because I didn’t like how I felt on them. I have had a pill for just over 5 weeks now. While on the medicine, I was definitely less panicked. However, I had a pretty constant feeling of being out of it, like being drugged or spaced out. I had this before I started the medicine so I was hoping it would help. The other really bad symptom I had was this weird dizziness and vertigo. I was dizzy before I started, but a few weeks in I remember I had rapid feeling in my head before bed like my head was moving. This turned into an awful vertigo sensation that hits hard when I lay down. It feels like I’m spinning or my body parts are moving or being pulled, and makes it hard to sleep sometimes. Anyway, ...

Pink oval antidepressant ## I recently received a refill from my mail order pharmacy for Citalopram HBR tablets, 20 mg. The first prescription I had were pink oval tablets, but this next one was round white tablets, the size of a 325mg bayer aspirin. Embossed on the tablet, from what I can make out is, WP1 3177. Is the same type of drug or could it be the wrong prescription?? ## This is the same medication and same dosage, just made by a different company that your last fill. Is this the same medicine? ## What was on your pill, imprints etc on the white oval pill, was wondering if it's the pill i'm trying to identify, as far is if what you got is the same, i would contact the pharmacy, as they should of let you know the appearance change ## Yes, the tablet with the RDY 344 marking also contains 40mgs of Citalopram, which is an SSRI class antidepressant. I have decided to stop using citalopram because i'm afraid of side effects. I started with 5 drops at evening , 6 drops the second day and 7 at the third time that was yesterday..I would like to know how degrading the dosage in order to avoid bad effects. Thanks, ALF. ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. Is your medication in liquid form? If so, I think you are doing well in simply counting how many drops you use, even it takes a little longer to taper off of in this manner. I am not a doctor though, so the...

Hi, I just switched to CVS and my Citalopram smells funny. I didn't like it from the start and now I am getting headaches. May I ask, is it Gluten free? It is a white oval pill with A on one side and 07 on the other. Please help... ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Many medications do have a funny smell, but some manufacturers use a coating to prevent people from smelling it. As to the gluten, Aurobindo does use corn starch in this tablet, so there is a chance that it may be contaminated with gluten, if the plant the processed the corn starch also does wheat products.
