Cephalexin 500mg caps nov didn't upset my stomach the way apo cephalexin 500mg (orange tablet) does. What is difference and are both as effective? ## They are the same medication, in the same dosage, just manufactured by different companies, so they are both equally effective. I am self treating a sinus infection. Started with 3 days of Cephalexin which I had from an infected finger. Also have 4 days of Amox from my sister. New job and can't take off to go to the doctor. I know it's a pain to take off work to go to the doctor, but it's something that we all have to do sometimes. I have a long history of sinusitus and MD has given me antibiotics to use. After 3 days with 1 cephalexin 100 mg p/day. Would swithcing to cephalexin 500 mgs 4x p day get faster results??? Ny name is Jane. I consider myself to be healthy. l have a skin infection from possibily a spider bite on my right wrist. Have been taking ibilex 500 for 3 days now. Have developed a rash on my lower right arm and left side of neck, both very itchy, and this morning, I have a swollen left eye. l still have 3 days of tablets to take. I am taking 500mg of Cephalexin for Mastitis. One doc said 4x a day for a week. Pharmacist said 2x a day for 2 weeks. Does it matter? Due to nausea I would rather take 2x a day for a longer period. What are the side effects of this med if one is diabetic? I have noted an unusual drop in my blood glucose after taking it. I took one tablet mid morning for a severe bladder infection. At lunch time I passed out briefly before vomiting. Dr switched me to a different antibiotic. So far, so good. ## Oh wow, Diana! What should the dosage of this med be. Adult female approx 130.lbs. ## The usual Adult dose for an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection is 250 to 500 mg orally every 6 hours for 7 to 10 days. Anatomically speaking, the upper respiratory tract does include the sinuses, so it would be safe to assume that this would be the correct dose for this type of infection.
