## I WAS GIVEN THIS FOR A SPIDER BITE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE DRUGS PURPOSE IS. I THINK IT IS A STERIOD TO REDUCE INFLAMMATION. DOES THIS SEEM CORRECT? ## I am living in China so I always like to check things out ASAP when ever I have to see a doctor here. Anyhow my daughter, who is almost 18 months had a fall today and broke her collar bone. X-ray showed a nice clean break no problem so he recommended a brace which I expected but for some reason he also prescribed Cefureoxime Axetil 125mg. I of course just Googled this and I'm a bit surprised at him giving her an antibiotic. I don't speak Chinese but and my wife not knowing medical English just said it's supposed to help her blood. is medication has had a serious side effect on myself as faiting and signs of possible heart problem's... faiting and cold chills and hot flashes ## i have been on cefuroxime axetil dor 8 days and i am having runs of tachicardia and just funny heart beats ## What symptoms did it cause that lead you to believe that you had signs of possible heart problems? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Yes, it has also been known to cause Tachycardia, but it usually goes away, once someone finishes their course of treatment. However, if you are having symptoms that are dangerous, then you should seek medical attention.

I took this for 10 days for a sinus infection, during taking this I developed a cough, couldn't talk, didn't think much about it just thought it was from being sick..i also developed a rash..been off this medicine for two weeks and still have a very itchy rash.....on my back..stomach area..ect..how long does a rash from this mess last? ## Shirley, an itchy rash could be the sign of an allergic reaction, so you should have it checked out by your doctor. How much water do you drink when taking the medicine ## Ideally, it should be taken with a full, 8 ounce glass of water. However, in most cases taking it with juice or etc. is also acceptable. How much water do you drink when taking the medicine ## Hello, Usually one 8oz glass of water is enough but I can't find any pertinent information stating that you must take Cefuroxime Axetil with a certain amount of water. I have only found information stating that it should be taken with food to help the absorption and reduce stomach upset. I just started taking Clindamycin and I'm on my third day. And Cefuroxime Axetil was recently prescribed to me this day after routine check up. I really forgot to mention I was taking it Clindamycin for Acne. So I'll finish my drug regimen first with Clindamycin and then Cefuroxime Axetil After. Although they have different uses.
