Can I take tramadol with methadone? I take 50 mg of tram and 130 mg methadone. I heard tramadol can block the methadone or ur methadone won't last long. ## Hello, Mick! How are you? It generally isn't recommend that you take them both, because what you've heard is correct, the Tramadol can block the Methadone and cause dangerous withdrawal. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Had a tooth extracted 24 hours ago. Still having serious Pain, Can I Take Tramadol 50 mg every 4-6 hours. I am on methadone and I've got an abscess in my mouth. It's killing me. Can I take targin naxolone or will it interfere with my methadone? ## Targin Naloxone will not do anything to help with an abscess, it is used to prevent opiate abuse. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. An abscess will require an antibiotic, and follow up dental treatment to correct whatever underlying problem has caused the infection. Have you consulted a dentist? ...

changing from Methadone for pain to Suboxone for pain. Pain clinc is trying to pass the buck, I cant find a GP in or around the Trenton Ontario area to prescribe. I have been taken 150 mg pill form for 6 years works good. But moved pain clinc is in Oakville Ontario usually pain clinc wants your GP to take over prescribing but most GPs are nervous because they have to get a section 56 Methadone exemption. Canadian government needs to make it easier to get, would help out a lot of people. Try going to a Addiction centre just to get Medication closer to home. Can you take Loricet and 140 mg. of methadone together? ## What has your doctor suggested? When treating chronic pain, a regular or immediate release medication is often coupled with a regular or controlled release medication, to enable better pain control. In such instances, yes, combinations such as Lorcet and Methadone might be used together, depending on the person, their condition and their tolerance to medications. ## i was on methadone for 4 years and my husband for almost 7 years now but i switched to suboxone about 3 years ago..anyway yes you can take those meds together but the only thing is you wont feel high from it because the methadone has a blocker in it it blocks out the effect from any kind of opiates (pain pills) beleive me when i was on methadone i have tried it all p... ...

I've been on methadone now for about 5 months. It's a pretty low dose. I also unfortunately top it up with alot of codeine. I have a really great doctor and team who are doing their best to help me and I am a difficult client! Anyway, long story short, the last 6 weeks or so I am in alot of pain at night time. I mean alot. It's extreme cramping and muscle pain. It lasts into the morning and I walk badly for the first hour or so after getting up. I'm plagued with nightmares too. I think I suffer from ptsd. I thought maybe the nightmares are causing anxiety and tension leading to body cramping? Does any one here know what is wrong or am I alone ## Methadone does not cause muscle cramps. Lack of water causes muscle cramps. Increase your methadone & get off those codeine... ...

Methadone, sold under the brand name Dolophine, among others, is an opioid used to treat pain and as maintenance therapy or to help with tapering in people with opioid dependence.[3] Detoxification using methadone can either be done relatively rapidly in less than a month or gradually over as long as six months.[3] While a single dose has a rapid effect, maximum effect can take five days of use.[3] The effects last about six hours after a single dose.[3] After long term use, in people with no...

anyone tell me about methadone ## Found this quote in another newsgroup: ------------ In blind trials, users who were given both drugs orally were unable to distinguish between the effects heroin and methadone. Withdrawal from heroin should be over after seven to ten days. Withdrawal from methadone though, can take up to a month or even longer. Many former heroin users have claimed that the horrors of heroin withdrawal were far less painful and difficult than withdrawal from methadone. Methadone is a synthetic drug. It was first invented in Germany during the Second World War by scientists who, having discovered pethidine some years earlier, were developing other similar compounds. The effects of methadone last longer than those of morphine-based drugs. Methadone's effects can last ... ...

Belviq with Methadone???
5 Replies RSS
ive been working to reduce my daily methadone dosage for a year now, as I've been on maintenance. I'm down from 55 mg daily to only 15mg at this point and soon enough will be free of its clutches. I've been maintaining a clean lifestyle and I don't need a lecture on addiction. My question is--can Belviq be taken with Methadone? My doctor says it completely negates any opiate based or nRcotic pain medications in the brain. Last thing I need is to be thrown into sudden horrible withdrawals. For those of you unfamiliar with the methadone maintenance treatment, you must taper from it verrrrry slowly because it has a half life in the brain of up to three days. So does anyone have advice on HOW this medication works with opiate type pain medications like Vicodin, Norco, Oxycod... ...

I really need to know of some docters that prescribe methadone for pain in or around the baton rouge, la area please help!!!! {edited for privacy} ## Hello, Brian! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Due to the regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, due to its highly addictive nature, most are going to be very reluctant to prescribe Methadone. Do you currentl... ...
