nadolol 40 mg can it be split ## Hi bernie, Usually if there is a score line (divid) embedded into the tablet, it means the manufacturer purposely made it so patients could easily cut it in half. And after looking at several images of Nadolol 40mg tabs on the internet, it appears that nearly all of them do have a score line. So in that aspect I don't see why you wouldn't be able to split it in half, provided that it's ok with your doctor. I hope this helps!

I only want to take half ofy op 15 can I cut it in half to swallow ## No, this is not considered safe, even though they are supposed to be formulated to prevent the release of all of the medication at once, they are supposed to be time released and there is always the possibility that cutting them could release too much at once, resulting in overdose, especially if you aren't used to taking narcotics. If you don't want to take the full dosage, at once, you should consult your doctor, because there is also a 10mg tablet available. This medication may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments?

I have 10 mg Vesicare pills and I only need to take 5 mg. I would like to cut them in half. They are not scored. I know that I can break them with my nails. Do pharmacies sell pill cutters. Thank you. ## As long as a medication is not time released and your doctor/pharmacist has not instructed you otherwise, then it is safe to divide pills. You should double check the tablets you have, just to be certain, with a pharmacist. Have you tried contacting them? As to pill cutters, yes they do sell them, there are many different ones available, price depends on the type you want.

I have bad nightmares and a fever blister on my lower lip. I take 90mg contrave. Can I cut the dose in half? ## Contrave is time released, so you should not split the tablets. You would normally find a score line on tablets that can be split, but there is none in this case. NDC: 51267-890 "CONTRAVE should be taken by mouth in the morning and in the evening. The tablets should not be cut, chewed, or crushed. Total daily doses greater than 32 mg/360 mg per day (two tablets twice daily) are not recommended. In clinical trials, CONTRAVE was administered with meals. However, CONTRAVE should not be taken with a high-fat meal because of a resulting significant increase in bupropion and naltrexone systemic exposure" Ref: DailyMed

Small round pink pill that should be taken (1 tablet) under the tongue when necessary. can't be bought over the counter. i think the name starts with a D. ## That's not much to go on, since the shape and color means nothing, especially in over the counter products. As to being dissolved under the tongue, there are quite a few that can be done with, as well, including some supplement products, such as Vitamin B12 sublingual tabs. If it starts with a D and is an OTC product, it could be Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Bendaryl, which is used to treat allergies. Is this possibly it? If you remember what it was meant to treat, then that may help us narrow it down.

My 87 year old mom is staying with me at Christmas. I have LASIK and potassium that are supposed to be given 20mg and 10 mg respectively. Can I half the dose? ## Hello, Anita! How are you? Yes, as long as tablet, such as the Lasix isn't time released or marked that you shouldn't cut, break or chew it, it is okay to do so, but you should always make sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. The potassium, however, is one of those that is usually marked not to be broken, cut, crushed or etc. It can cause severe irritation of the stomach if that is done, so it needs to be taken whole. Is there anything else I can help with?

I asked my doctor the same question yesterday, she said "no", because once it hits the air, the strength starts to dissipate, or weaken. So she put me on the lowest dose, as I hope to get off them and all meds eventually. ## No, you can't cut it in half and the reason for it is because it is time released and cutting the patch could cause you to get too much of the medication at once, which may result in a dangerous overdose. It is blank on other side. There is a score mark. Someone said hydrocodone another said oxycodone. ## Are there any markings on it, or just the score? If there are no markings, it can be ruled out as being a U.S. manufactured and approved prescription medication, because they are all required to have markings to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products and there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Does anyone have any ideas what this tablet contains?
