No allergic reaction to mediation. My daughter has had hydronephrosis since she was 3 months old. She has specialist at Radi children hospital but I cant reach her right now. My daughter is 7 now. And her left kidney upper pole is dead but swollen. She has been taking nitrofurantoin for 4 years now. Yesturday URGENT care found out she had a BAD UTI just useing a dip stick. They prescriped cephelexin. This even I accidently gave her both within an hour of each other. Ive been watching her and she seems fine. But I need to know for my own peace of mind. can doxycycline be used for tooth infection

I just got this yesterday for another infection I have, now, I am starting to feel swelling, around my tooth causing ear and tooth pain. Its 100 mg, 1 per day for 30 days. Will I be ok, I cant just pick up and go to the like i wish I could. Tia. doxycycline hyclate 20 mg can this be used for tooth abscess?

No money right now for a dentist and I have a new bottle of doxycyline hyclate in 20 mg form (using for acne) pill says lci on one side and 1336 on the other, small round white. I have a tooth abscess and want to know if I can increase the dosage safely to 100 mg per day to fight the infection? ## @Jason, Based on my research, Doxycycline can be used for a tooth abscess. The usual adult dose for a severe bacterial infection is listed at 100mg orally every 12 hours for 7 to 10 days; (but the 100mg may also be taken once daily as a "maintenance" dose for less severe infections). My only question to you would be do you have enough pills to run a full course of treatment, in order to fully eradicate the infection?
