Having a total knee replacement done in March have tried every type of therapies for pain, including CORTISONE and ORTHOVISC, but nothing helps... Doctor put me on Norco (5mg. / 325 mg.). It takes the edge off of my pain. (Also forgot to mention I'm dealing with severe bursitis in my hip in which I'm having the knee replacement surgery done on...) But still in a lot of pain. Can I asked the Orthopedic Surgeon to up the dosage to 7.5 mg. / 325 mg.? Also, is it safe taking this medication for two months prior to my surgery? Need some relief from pain until March... (Had my other knee replaced 5 years ago and took Norco 10/325 for 5 weeks after surgery to help with pain especially during therapy.) Anyones advise on this question? Thanks Much! Happy New Year to All!!! :-) ## You can...

Went back to my PC who says the 600mg.Ibuprofen not enough. Here's a script for 800mg.This does not Help at all. Also I'm trying to find a...

bursitis ## I have terrible pain in my knees so I consulted an orthopaedic and he has prescribed rotec t5 after an x'ray. I just want to know the side effects of this medicine and whether I should go for other tests? ## Arthrotec contains Diclofenac, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and Misoprostol, which is used to help protect the stomach from the damage that the Dicolfenac could potentially cause. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. It is often prescribed to help with such conditions, because it can reduce the inflammation that contributes to the pain these conditions can cause. Parwez, what diagnosis did he provide after viewing the x-rays and doing an exam? It is always your option to see another doctor for anoth...

I need a pain clinic or a doctor in the Stark County Ohio area I can walk into today and get some hydro. or oxy. I am legit and have MRI results to prove. I have been going to er visits up till now bulged disc both knees have torn cartilage and right leg is shorter than other also bad right hip with bursitis. ## I'm sorry, but with the new regulations that were put in place this year, that's really not going to happen. If you need immediate pain relief, returning to the ER is most likely your only option. Since people requiring controlled substances for ongoing treatment of pain are now being forced to see pain management specialists, such doctors have become swamped with new patients. Thus, if you do happen to find one that is still accepting new patients, you'll likely hav...

I've got crushed vertebrae at T6,7&8, ruptured discs there crushing my spinal cord by 50%, ruptured discs & nerve impingement at cervical, thoracic & lumbar spine levels. Plus i have scoliosis. DDD & DJD. It's all inoperable. I've had years of physical therapy, been through pain management programs, back school & to multiple pain management Drs. In addition to spinal injuries, I have torn rotator cuffs, severe osteoarthritis & bursitis in my hands, spine and knees, and it's working on my right hip now! I'm 63 and feel much older most days. I spent years on heavy duty opiates, anti-inflammatory drugs (ruined my stomach, I can't take them at all anymore), mega doses of neurontin, steroids...enough! I stopped all of those 8 years ago. Most da...
