What is everyone's experiences with this drug? Do you recommend something different? What is normal on adderall and what is good and how do I know if the drug isnt working for me or isnt affecting me properly. anyone taking Adderall IR 15mg from Teva/Barr??

I need to know if Teva is still making this orange tablet imprint 15 on one side and b777 on the other. I read some where that this tablet is IR & not XR bc for the last couple years I thought my doc. script me XR. I guess it had to do with my insurance. I decided to go back on Adderall again after being off for 6 months. Bad idea, of course I gained weight(10lbs), couldn't pay attention, zoned out, very unmotivated & distracted. Anyways,I started again in June, got a bad manufacturer Aurobindo from CVS, (exp severe dry mouth, shed 5 lbs,not great on focus) got another Rx from Global Adderall XR capsule 15mg 2xs/day,my insurance can only cover Once/day on this brand but these don't feel like Barr tabs, I have energy but no focus, not so much motivation & I'm eating... ...

Has anyone used the Mallinckrodt. I have never even heard of it, and have taken the other generics with moderate success;. This brand is horrible. Very weak. Anyone experienced the same? ## Hello, Brian! How are you? Yes, several other people have complained about this one, though some have not had any problems with it. It really depends on the person. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, anorexia and insomnia. Can anyone else chime in that's taken this one? ## Generic Adderall made by Barr,Teva, Eon all seem to be great! No issues for over 4 years. I normally get my perscription for my Adderall 20mg Tab filled at Walgreens. They said the warehouse sends them whatever they choose ( Barr or Teva ) which I am allergic to. I have ADD My mind just is racing as I have been without my medicine, I have tried those other brands and immediaetly hives break out and massive headache. How can I find a solution to this I dont know why us patients have to be caught up and or dictated to what ever a warhouse choose. ## I've also suffered odd reactions to some medications, so I understand what you're going through. It really sucks. However, you aren't actually stuck with what their warehouse dictates, because you do have the option of going to a different pharmacy. You don't have to use Walgreens. Dexedrine Vs Adderall

I have been taking Dexedrine (Dextroamphetamine Sulfate XR) for 3 years now and it has always looked the same: clear and dark brown manufactured by BARR, imprinted with the same and the numbers 956. Two months ago the medication I received was blue. I was stupid and didn't think twice about it only to be called by the pharmacy and told I had been given Adderall by mistake at the end of the month. The following month my medication was back to the usual clear and brown. This month I have been given blue pills again. They gave them to me in a bottle that says "Dextroamphetamine Sulf ER 15MG" as it should, they scratched out "BARR" and wrote "Global" on the manufacturer part. The description label on the bottle says the pills should be clear and brown and imprint... ...

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled? ## I live in Southern NH. I can't find a pharmacy anywhere around here that can get Adderall in any dose from Teva and Barr Pharmaceuticals. My psychiatrist was apparently completely unaware of this situation when he wrote the prescription earlier today, 10/18/2011. I run out in 4 days but am on a very low dose (5mg twice a day) so I may be able to wean off of it safely by cutting back to 5mg once a day, then nothing. I wonder how many people taking higher doses are goint to have major problems with withdrawal... ...

I understand, I have had a similar problem with some generics myself, due to the fluctuations they are allowed to have. What I'd suggest is asking your QFC pharmacist if they can order the one from Barr/Teva in for you. I know they carry their products, two of my prescriptions were switched to the ones manufactured by Teva a few months ago from my local QFC which isn't too far from you. Adderall 10mg - new design?
7 Replies RSS Share
Does brand name 10mg Adderall have a new design? Picked up my Rx yesterday and pill is blue. One side is scored and says 10. The other side, rather than saying AD, has a symbol which looks sort of like a figure 8, or perhaps a letter S with a line through it. Pharmacy says these are brand name Adderall. Anyone else see these yet? ## Brand name Adderall, at least the IR version, has a new formulation! (This was confirmed to me by an individual at Barr Pharmaceuticals - manufacturer of brand name (& generic) Adderall. And IMO the new formulation is nowhere nearly as effective as was the old formulation. I'm pretty sure that as this new formulation of brand name Adderalll makes its way into the pharmacies, there will be plenty of news about it and plenty of folks very unhappy about... ...

I was taking Adderall XR Barr, I didn't like it! Then shire XR which was way better. I could focus, study, multi task, pay attention etc.....Then my psychiatrist switched me to instant release. I started taking Adderall 30mg IR. The manufacture is Teva USA. It taste like candy! It keeps me up yet I'm not energized or focused. I asked the pharmacist which manufacture carries brand Authentic Adderall? She said Teva USA is the only band adderall for 30 mg IR. Is that true? I feel like shire xr was way better?!? ## Hi May, From what I could gather, Barr Laboratories is a Division of Teva USA and they appear to be the only one making Adderall IR 30mg (at least in my investigation). I just got these today. Normally get barr. I can tell these are a bit more mellow compared to how barr will kick in. It's only been 1 day so I will see how it goes. So far I am not a huge fan, but I do like the fact that I didn't get a nicotine craving like I do when Barr first kicks in. ## I'm curious now, as to whether or not anyone else gets nicotine cravings from this medication? How are you going on this generic? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nervousness, insomnia, appetite loss, and irritability. ## I'm quite sure Aurolife is the same as Aurobindo. Their Adderall is trash. It causes body numbness, racing thoughts, dissociation, and other serious side effects in many people who for year... ...

Adderall xr 20 mg and M. Amphet Salts 20 mg. Are these the exact same medications? Are they both manufactured my Shire? Does Shire provide Teva/Barr with the generic version of Adderall xr under the name M. Amphet Salts 20mg? Thank you.... ## In order to tell you the manufacturer, you need to provide the markings or imprints on the capsules in question. I do, however, doubt this is the case, because TEVA manufacturer's their own generic medications. Both items that you described are the same medication, the only different you listed was one being controlled release, I do not know if the other one is controlled release or not, from what you provided. There are many companies that make generic medications. Can you please post back with the imprint? I will gladly check to see who makes... ...

4 Replies RSS Share
I have been on Adderall 30 mg BID for years but can only take the COR generic and in my area all we have is Barr. I had a very bad emotional recation to it. My doctor switched me last month to Ritalin 20mg BID. I feel tired and like I am on Xanax all the time. So now he is going to switch me to Dexedrine. I am so fustrated because my Adderall work perfect. Has anyone been in this situation or can let me know if Dexedrine is more like my adderall then the Ritalin???? ## Did you try asking a pharmacy to order the one manufactured by Core for you? Adderall manufactured by Teva not working
522 Replies RSS Share
I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA? ## You'd have to report any complaints to the FDA, at 888-INFO-FDA. However, there may not actually be anything to report. They do allow generic medications to differ from the name brands, in the amount of the active ingredient, by up to plus or minus 20%. This is considered an acceptable therapeutic window. For most people, these differences don't cause any problems, but if someone is sensitive to medications, it means that one with a slightly ... ...

Adderall IR - Switch to Vyvanse or Adderall XR?
1 Reply RSS Share
I was taking brand name Adderall IR for about a year and found it to be very helpful. But since Teva/Barr/Duramed just changed the formula for brand name Adderall IR - and it's pretty awful - my pdoc switched me to Vyvanse. I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to Adderall XR instead (of Vyvanse)? Thanks for any and all replies. ## For anyone else that's looking for similar information, the best thing I can say is that it really depends on figuring out what works for you. Sometimes finding the right medication, once you've grown tolerant to one, or once something has changed about it, is just a matter of trial and error. Some people get lucky and the first thing they use works great for them and stays effective for years, but this doesn't happen for everyone. Thus, ... ...

Adderall 30mg Which Generic Brand Is Better
556 Replies RSS Share
Is the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg? ## Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each of these brands, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. So it's quite possible that you may respond favorably with one medication and not the other (even if they are the same drug & same dosage); mostly due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. Have you taken either one of them yet? I'd probably suggest giving them e... ...
