My doctor prescribed Atorva 40 mg tablets first for 1 month when my cholesterol was 388 MG/DL. When cholestorol, hdl & ldl levels became normal, he prescribed for 3 moths; again now after lipid test which is normal he has prescribed the same dose for 3 more months. Is it needed? I am 41 years old. My triglycerides 225 (188), Cholestrol174 (159) LDL-114(110) and HDL-20(20R). Note with in the brackets are test dated 10-08-2010. Do atorvastatin calcium tablets cause breathlessness and heavy breathing if the tablet is taken after a meal, particularly when one is walking after having eaten and taken the tablet? If so, what does it mean? ## From my records I did not find anything stating that atorvastatin causes breathlessness or heavy breathing. After my CABG on 09.09.2010, I am taking Clopitab - A 150 Mg daily one after lunch as directed by my Cardiologist/surgeon. I am 38 years old. My triglycerides 664, HDL-29 and LDL-133. My doctor advised me to take Fibator tablet containing atorvastatin 10 mg and fenofibrate BP 145 mg. for 3 months course. Four months back my triglycerides was 321, HDL-31 and LDL-133 then my doctor I had used these tablets for 3 months as per the advise of same doctor but the triglecerides levels are increased from 321 to 664.
