I started on this drug about 3 months ago for mild high blood pressure and after about a month and half I noticed I was loosing a lot of my hair when I washed it and then noticed much more in my brush. Then others started noticing hair on my clothes all the time. I've read all I can find about this drug and do not find that to be one of the side effects. Has anyone else heard of this problem with this drug? ## Atenolol is not that of a problem, I had been using that for the last 13 years, so far I did not had any major side effect other than a humming sound in the ear, but Chlortalidone is not known to me yet. Any comment out there. ## I take the 100/25, and have been noticing the same problems. Have not really gave it a lot of thought, until now. Would like to know for sure if this... ...

How are you? I do understand your stance on this and our country does need as much support as we can give…. However, I think that you are going to run into problems if you try to do this with your medication. A pharmacy isn't going to let you pick whose Atenolol you receive to fill your prescription. They generally stock whichever one was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to reorder and that's the one you get, when you go in for a refill. Unlike your grocery store, they don't offer you a selection to chose from. I really wish that I had better news fo... ...

Can a 25mg Atenolol tablet be scored? ## Are you asking if it's safe to cut in half? If so, then yes, as long as your doctor or pharmacist haven't instructed you otherwise and it isn't a time released tablet. My sensitivity to medications often makes me cut tablets, that aren't scored for cutting, so I can take a lower dose. My doctor just approves it first. ## Can you take 6mg of Atenolol to prevent or block an adrenal rush? The adrenaline causes me to awaken between 2-4 a.m. ## My mother is prescribed one 100 mg tablet of atenolol a day. my doctor spoke against the antenanol drug but has specified nebicard 5.both are beta blockers which one will have the least side affects. ## Atenolol is an old drug but the only bet blocker I can tolerate. I don't have edema in my feet anymore and I have more energy and less depression than with anything else. It also does the job for me just as well as any other drug. I take 50 mg twice a day along with a diuretic and my pressure is usually in the 120s or 80s even being over 100 lbs overweight. ## bhushan, since they are both in the same drug class, they both pretty much carry the same side effect risks, such as nausea, headache, dizziness and stomach pain.
