i know of which side effects and benifits??? ## I AM TAKING aten -25 from last 15 years,for high bp. i have developed in my neck[some enlarge gland dr,is telling me that it is due to medicine clear my query ## I have been taking one tablet of Atten-25 for the last 15 years after my open heart bypass surgery for blocked artraries. I was prescribed Cardace-5, Atten-25 and Ecospirin-150 to be taken after lunch every day for life. Of late my blood pressure has gone high to 190 / 70. I was advised to take Cardace-5 in the night as well. today my Blood pressure was checked by the Doctor showing 160 / 60 / 44. Since the pulse rate has dropped, my Doctor has asked me to stop taking Atten-25 as it contributes to lower pulse rate and stop Cardace-5 in the afternoon and take Stamlo-2.5 after break... ...

I am 60+. I have been prescribed by a Doctor to have half of Aten 25mg after break-fast. I have been on this medication since 7 years. I am keen to know if it has any side effect. I thank if some one can give me the answer. ## Did you mean to ask about long term effects? Because side effects only last for a short while, as your body adjusts to a medication. BP remainsinthe range of 160/100 - 180/115 despite taking medicines like, metoprolol100,metolar100,dilgem90,telma40,olsar,cardace,prazopress,minipress,starpress,amcard,atenolol,atrova,lacilactone,me12,dizide,alprax.25,colsprine100 etc.etc on various intervals but with no effect.even the ecg,tmt,echo,angiography could suggest nothing ## my husband is advice to take TAB CARDACE 2.25 AFTER BREAKFAST. I am a T 2 DM patient for last few years. The following medicines are taken for last few months. Amryl 1 OD, Volibo 0.3 TDS, Clopitab 75 ODPC, Gabantin 100 BD, Fibator 10 OD, Losar H OD , Losar A OD and Prazopress XL 2.5 OD. As my BP was observed as 160/70 on 4/10/12, Doctor changed the medicines for Hypertension instead of Losar A, and Losar H to Stamlo 10 and Prazopress XL 5.For last 3/4 days my anklet and feet are seen to be swelling. My blood pressure is high 140/95-100, so i was taking Atenolal 25 mg for more than 12 years. later 4 years before i had head ache, Doctor said it may be migrane, therefore i was prescribed Ciplar La 40 mg twice a day instead of Atenolal 25 mg to solve BP as well as head ache. Can chymoral forte be taken with Tenormin 25 mg tablet which I take for blood pressure ## Hi Veeboy, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Chymoral Forte (chymotrypsin + typsin) and Tenormin (atenolol). For 10 yrs I was using sandoz atenolol with great results. Went to fl could not locate Sandoz atenolol so I bought Mylan . Within a few days I started getting back pains and body pain. Within time it was hard to walk and move around, and wake up depressed. Then my left arm developed pain I could not even make a bed etc. my thought was I was getting arthritis. Went to cardio lecture dr said same medicine different manufacture gave different side effects. I located sandoz 4 days later I woke up told my husband the pain was gone. Then looked up Mylan and say their side effects. Started walking to much too soon cause leg problems ended in physical therapy. My husband had to push me in a walker for two weeks or so. ...

I started on this drug about 3 months ago for mild high blood pressure and after about a month and half I noticed I was loosing a lot of my hair when I washed it and then noticed much more in my brush. Then others started noticing hair on my clothes all the time. I've read all I can find about this drug and do not find that to be one of the side effects. Has anyone else heard of this problem with this drug? ## Atenolol is not that of a problem, I had been using that for the last 13 years, so far I did not had any major side effect other than a humming sound in the ear, but Chlortalidone is not known to me yet. One of my Doctor prescribed Aten 25mg for Migraine. He asked me to take when ever I feel starting sympems of Migraine. Is there any side effects for this tablet? is there any chance t become addict for this tab? ## I have high blood pressure and have been treated for it for the last 3 years with 50mg of atenolol and .02mg clonodine patch. My doctor just discontinued the clonidine and added 5mg of amlodipine with the 50mg of atenolol. This works great until about 7 or 8 pm and my pressure starts climbing. I've started today taking just half the 50mg of Atenolol in the am with 5mg of amlodipine and then the other 25mg of atenolol with another 5mg of amlodipine in the pm, I have been using .01 of clonidine to lower my pressure in the pm and my doctor wants me to stay away from the clon... ...

I have dry mouth, cold feet/hands, real tired/all the time, Do you know of anything to help with this. ## At first I thought you might be showing signs of Iron or B12 deficiency, but you are definitely experiencing the side effects of Atenolol. Please follow the link below and scroll down to the section called Side Effects, as it shows all the side effects you are coping with: I think the obvious solution is to consult your doctor and hopefully find a replace so you can discontinue using this horrible medication.
