VA hospitals took hydrocodone/oxycodone off their prescription list. I have 4 degenerative discs in my neck. Also constant shoulder/arm pain due to rotator cuff tears on both arms. Is there really a pharmacy out there or doctor to give my a pain /depressant pill. I live in middle west Florida. Thank you ## You will need to be treated in the private sector. You may want to check and verify in writting that the VA has taken those meds off of their prescription list. There are others who are being prescribed them. ## Thank you BL

I've been on Zoloft now for over a year for depression, decided to quit smoking 11/2010, started on Chantix, right after thanksgiving went to the ER with SEVERE, and i mean Severe Head pain that required cat scans, docs dismissed it as a side effect of chantix, gave me pain meds, sent me on my way, by this time i decided 1 chantix a day was sufficient, my general practioner agreed, the next month, i becam irritable, angry, moody, my family didn't know what was happening.... xmas eve day, i slashed my arm, for no reason...., i was supposedly in control of my depression...., had a nice few days in the hospital which refused my requests for my Chantix, i came home, content, happy, realizing the doc's had weaned me off Chantix, So this is a very SERIOUS WARNING, IF YOU are Takin...

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself on these forums. My name is Dan and I'm a social worker and I do mental health research. One of the issues that I see come up time and time again, but that is rarely openly discussed in my field, are the positive and negative effects antidepressants can have on sexual health. It's an area I'm researching more now, but am hopeful to converse about the topic here in an effort to learn more myself and to hopefully share some of my research/knowledge/projects too. ## You are welcome on this site, but anti depressants are not good. They've caused more problems than just sexual health. Just like all meds that the government thinks they have to regulate these should be. Instead they think the answer is to let them control what ...

I am 27 years old. I want to commit suicide now because I have been in depression for a long period. Can any medication help? ## I was diagnosed with depression. I have this mood that sometimes I get so angry and feeling like committing suicide.. Is that normal? ## Suicide's not the answer & almost all Anti-Depressants are linked to serious side effects, No.#1 Suicide. I can tell you what saved my life. I was on 4-5 meds. that caused; Hopelessness, Audio & Visual Hallucinations & more. I was seriously injured in an Negligent Work Accident over 16 yrs. ago, 24/7 Severe Chronic Pain, on highest pain meds since.. I've been "Abandoned" by various Dr.'s, recent 3 months now, without meds it could have been the end. Thankfully, I can turn to Jesus anytime I fee...

I see a lot of posts of concerns of side effects of anti-depressant medications. Personally, I think all side effects suck and am thinking of getting off meds. I have OCD and have tried 4-5 SSRI/ SSRNIs over 20 years (one at a time). One med I took, Luvox, I didn't take for a week (I'm THAT lazy) and started being stuck in side effects. Very very bad anxiety and restless arms/legs that made me pace and go for walks to distract me. Couldn't sleep or sit still due to the feeling. Even cried. Went to emergency room a couple times for shakiness bothering me so bad. Tried lowering Luvox. Tried upping it. Couldn't get back to where symptoms went away. What I discovered through the Luvox experience is don't lower dose and gradually go back to dose you were supposed to be on...

I had depression n anxiety 10yrs ago. Was given Seroxat n had very good results. Been off meds since then. Now depression n anxiety has returned (relapse). Been given Lexapro, Luvox, Prozac. No results at all! Seems resistant to anti depressants. What is happening? Do i go for only benzos to treat anxiety bcos anxiety is main problem not depression. appreciate any help. Thx. ## Hello, Ochomow! How are you? Have you ever tried just an anxiolytic, like Buspirone, if it's available there? It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, somnolence and nervousness. It's something you may want to talk to your doctor about. It may be what you need if taken with an antidepressant. ## Hope things have gotten better since you posted this. I was just prescribed Rameron 30mg to take at bedtime to help with me sleep. I am also taking Adderall 30mg, Ativan 0.5mg and Celexa 20mg on a daily basis. I know Rameron has a side effect of weight gain. Has anyone heard of or experienced any worse side effects with the meds combined? Also I know it takes a while for the body to get used to a drug. If I start experiencing worse symptoms how long should I take the drug before consulting with my Dr? ## Hi, Emily! How are you doing? The most dangerous thing that can occur with this combination would be Serotonin syndrome, which can be very dangerous. Thus, if you start experiencing symptoms such as increased heart rate, shivering, sweating, tremors or twitching, then you need to seek medical attention immediately. Learn more Remeron detai...

The top rated ones have habit forming chemicals, like Xanax, Vallium. Are there any medicines that aren't addictive but still effective? ## I am afraid that ANYTHING you take regularly carries a risk of becoming dependent or addicted to it. The main thing of importance is to always see your doctor regularly and only take all medications exactly as prescribed. You are correct that those in the Benzodiazepine family are the most habit forming. You may wish to ask your doctor about some of the antidepressants, such as: Paroxetine: Or Pristiq: Some of them have been used to treat anxiety and have less addictive potential than the Benzodiazpines. Do you have any other questions? ## Yea i already considered anti depressants, but do they really work for anxiety and fear? The main thing abo...

My mom is on anti depressants and sleeping pills ... I don't have all the names of them but was wondering if u could list a few of the most popular that cannot be taken with methadone ... ## Hello, Kolinna! How are you? No, I'm sorry, that would be very difficult to do. However, is she getting them all at the same pharmacy and/or from the same doctor? If so, then they have already most likely been checked against each other for any dangers. This is something that pharmacies do as a matter of course

I AM LOOKING FOR A DOCTOR TO PRESCRIBE ME XANAX OR KLONOPIN IN PITTSBURGH PA. EVERYONE I KNOW WILL NOT TAKE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE INSURANCE, ONLY CASH WHICH IS VERY UNETHICAL... WHAT ABOUT PPL THAT REALLY NEED THE MEDICATION??? ANYONE THAT KNOWS OF A PSYCHIATRIST THAT WILL PRESCRIBE EITHER ONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT?!? I WOULD RATHER TAKE THE KLONOPIN BECAUSE THE XANAX CAUSE MY DEPRESSION TO GET WORSE AFTER TAKING THEM ALTHOUGH THEY HELP THE ANXIETY WHICH IS FAR WORSE, BECAUSE ITS NOT ONLY TORTURE BUT LEADS ME TO TERRIBLE BEHAVOIRS. THE KLONOPIN ACTUALLY HELP WITH THE ANXIETY AND DONT WEIGH ME DOWN AFTER TAKING THEM. AND WORK WELL WITH MY ANTI DEPRESSANTS. I have been on anti-depressants since 1999 and would like to get off them altogether. I started with Paxil and after several years, it just wasnt cutting it anymore. Lexapro was a complete 180 right from the start. I am only on 10mg a day, but would like to stop. Had a real bad experience with stopping Paxil once for a week prior to a sleep study and am worried quitting Lexapro might be the same. I dont see a shrink cause he just pushed the meds the pharm rep was selling and my regular dr doesnt know much about it... help ## After being on it for that long, you'll definitely have to do a very slow taper, otherwise on top of the possible withdrawal type symptoms, you'll also likely experience rebound effects. These effects can include depressive symptoms that are worse than the o...

Over the past 15 years I've been on most all the anti-depressant medications on the market: effexor, celexa, paxil, cymbalta, wellbutrin, and prozac for a long time. I started with a new psychiatrist in January of this year and he started me on Viibryd (I'd been on 30mg prozac for the last ten years). He also put me on lamictal because, well, the more the merrier? Anyway, to make a long story short, I was doing pretty well on the Viibryd and Lamictal so I decided heck, I'll try and go off meds and see what happens. I titrated down over 3 months during this past summer and things went from bad to worse. Basically I became suicidally depressed so I quickly went back on Viibryd. I quickly felt less suicidal but haven't fully 'recovered.' For the past three months I...

Clinical trials were looking at the use of opiod agonists as off label anti-depressants. Since they block the release of glutimate without the more addictive opiate side effects. Also, releases more dopamine? Ketamine also being studied as well as anti-inflammatory drugs in combination with opioid agonists? I am probably mistating the complex bio-chemistry involved, but bottom line it seems like anti-depressant meds are all moving toward reducing inflammation by reducing glutamate release, (or is it the other way around) from the spinal column by binding opioid agonists to the pain receptors. Thereby also increasing dopamine release. I know several experimental drugs were in the pipeline but some fizzled out. Any ideas as to truly "new" anti-depressants for treatment resistant m...

info ## Once again, a foreign medication unavailable in the U.S. Foreign countries just don't regulate their meds like the FDA does, so it is very hard to find information on them. You could try asking your doctor or pharmacist for more information. ## Do you by chance mean the anti depressant Paroxetine - brand name Paxil ? ## Peroxidine is Vitamin B6: Discovered in 1934 and emphasized in 1938, vitamin B6 was synthetized in 1939 and called peroxidine. Pyridoxamine and pyridoxal. Source: I was prescribed Miligamma for nerve damage in my hands and Miligama contains Peroxidine, my MD explained to me that it's Vit B6

I've been diagnosed with major depression and adhd since I was 10. I started taking anti depressants when I was about 17. After trying a slew of different medications we settled on effexor. I went a long time without a PCP or psychiatrist and insurance so was basically stuck on effexor out of a fear of the brutal withdrawal symptoms. I was also a drug addict so didn't know what, if anything the meds were doing to my already altered brain chemistry. I have now been clean and sober for over one year and in therapy. I wanted to get off the effexor as it was the last vestage of my old life and try something new. My psychiatrist dropped me from 150mg to 112.5 to 75 to 37.5 in about a months time and I'm in my third day of nothing at all. I feel like absolute crap. Brainzaps/pulse...

I have found a green and white capsule pill with 20 marked in black on the green part of the pill and BL marked on the white part in black also. I have been using Cilift 20mg as well as Alzam for just over 2 years. I have Rheumatoid arthritis. Started taking anti depressants after my husband committed suicide over 2 years ago. My wife has been on Brintellix/Trintellix for nearly a year now with great results. No other anti-depressant has been as effective in treating her symptoms. However, she has also suffered from migraines over the years, and she is not allowed to take the triptans that she used to take (Maxalt, etc.). Normally the Excedrin Migraine (acetaminophen, aspirin, caffeine) has been enough, but this most recent one was bad enough to require a trip to urgent care and a shot of a narcotic painkiller. Any suggestions on what migraine meds she can talk to her doctor about? ## Topamax, works awesome for me, it's cool once you get past the brain fog, and the weight loss. ## Hello, Patrick!
