Can it cause a positive for methamphetamine in a urine test? Been taking amoxicillin 500 mg and it showed up for a trace of methamphetamine in a urine test. There is no way I should have been positive. ## I would like to know this same info because I have passed three tests and am being accused of consuming methamphetamine, showing a positive after I finished my prescription of antibiotics. I was not doing cocaine, but I went to my doctor and was told I have it in my urine. So I went to the hospital and had it checked that day, came back showing no cocaine in my urine. So I went back to my pain doctor to show him a print out of the urine test and then was told it was not that day, it was on 7/7/16. I have thin membrane nephritis- a chronic non progressive kidney disease where basically my kidney membranes are too thin to filter properly. This causes me to spill up to 1000mg of protein in a 24hr period when "normal" spillage- is 0-8mg sometimes 10mg/dL which can go up to 150-300mg/dL when pregnant.
