Can you drink alcohol while taking this medication? ## I'm not that sure, but I wouldn't take the chance. talk to your doctor ## Since alcohol is a blood thinner, it will effect how fast the drug moves through and then out of your body, making it so you might not receive the correct dosage, for instance, if you are supposed to take 2 a day, but you drink alcohol, you could end up with a med that lasts only 9 or 10 hours, instead of the 12 it should, which could affect how the drug works for you. This can also vary depending on how much alcohol you drink and your own metabolism, so it is always better to stay away from it when you are on a prescription medication.

what is the maximum mg/kg dose for a 5 year old with ear infection? ## That would be a matter you would need to dicuss with your doctor or pharmacist, the maximum dose will depend on the severity of the infection plus the child and their tolerance to the drug, if they have used it before, if other antibiotics haven't worked and etc. ## Child under 10 - 125 up to 250mg TDS. I have bad kidneys, plus Parkinsons disease, plus have had both knee replaced. I took Amoxicilina 2000mg daily for two years straight. I never felt better, I lost 75 lbs. quite couldn't figure out whyI was losing all this weight all of a sudden then I decided it was time to go off the pills, within three months I gained 50 lbs and started feeling terrible. What is the catch? ## Amoxicillin is nothing more than an antibiotic and that is a very high dosage and a very long time to be taking it. Why were you on it for so long? It should also not cause weight loss, like that. Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

Dosing for the tablet: Adults - Administer 1 tablet (625mg) at a time, 3 times a day every 8 hours. For dry syrup.: -Children 7-11 years - Administer 8ml syrup at a time, 3 times a day every 8 hours. -Children 3-6 years - Administer 5ml syrup at a time, 3 times a day every 8 hours. -Children 9months-2years - Administer 2.5ml syrup at a time, 3 times a day every 8 hours. I had the flu and was percribed Amox Clav 875Mg because I was bleeding from my ears.the bleeding stopped but the there was liquid draining from them .The draining stopped now I am left with very little hearing and a constant ringing in my ears it has been two weeks and I barely hear anything will my hearing come back in time?It has been two weeks now should I continue taking the Amox-Clav 875mg ## If it has been over 2 weeks and you are still having such problems, then you should most likely return to your doctor to have them checked again. My son is 11 and weighs 37.8 kilos. 6 days ago he had 39.8 temps and was diagnosed with tonsillitis. The doctor prescribed amoxil 250mg / 5ml @ 10ml / 3 times a day with a repeat.... This would see him on the antibiotic for roughly 6 to 7 days... I've since been to my regular doctor and she said 'amoxil' would not have been her 1st choice for this condition but that there was no point changing it now as he'd already been on them for a couple of days. She also said I could stop them after 5 days as this would be a sufficient dose. However we are always told to finish the full course of antibiotics generally, standard procedure when taking antibiotics.
