It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, and other viral infections. The Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium "combination" results in an antibiotic with an increased spectrum of action and restored efficacy against amoxicillin-resistant bacteria that produce -lactamase. A few weeks ago I was sick and was prescribed Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium tablets 875/125 mg to take twice a day. They worked fast and I didn't feel the need to complete the treatment. I woke up with horrible throat pain a couple of nights ago, it would not let me sleep! the next 2 days were hell. I remembered I had the meds and decided to take them. The problem? After that last time that I took them, we discovered that our 21 month old baby is allergic to penicillin. He had been taking it, because he was sick and a few days after starting he started to have a reaction. My mother in law and my own mother are very allergic to it. I can't hold my baby!!! I started to take the meds and didn't think that it could affect my son, but it did. Being in contact with me trig...

Not sure what this is... my neighbor gave me one and said it's for pain... ## Hi Nic, Based on the description provided, I've identified your white pill marked "X 32" as Amoxicillin (875mg) + Clavulanate Potassium (125mg); which is NOT used for pain, but rather in the treatment of bacterial infections. Manufactured by: NorthStar Rx LLC You can learn more about this drug on the page for Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium Details In light of this, I would question the legitimacy of your neighbor's word, since this actually has nothing to do with pain management or pain relief unless it is proven to be caused by a serious infection. And if that is the case, you may want to follow up with your doctor before taking random prescription meds that may not do anything for yo...
