What if I take another pill (875 mg) within six hours of taking my first pill - will that be harmful? ## Doubtful, but it probably won't be any more helpful. Why would you want to do this? ## Standard dosing protocol for taking this medication notes that you should be taking 875 mg orally every 12 hours for 7 to 10 days. That said I wouldn't suggest taking it sooner than later, as there will be an increased risk of severe side effects and other related symptoms. Taking more than prescribed at a different time frame could also trigger bacteria to become more resistant to the medication. Other side notes indicate that the every 12-hour dosage interval is associated with significantly less diarrhea than the every 8-hour dosage interval. I hope this information helps!

Does alcohol diminish the effectiveness of Amox Clav 875? ## Hi Rudy, According to a medical news article I read, "Drinking alcohol while taking these tablets does not usually cause any problems. However, some people who drink alcohol while taking antibiotics similar to amoxycillin and clavulanic acid have experienced adverse effects." Aside from the typical side effects, I would personally suggest taking it easy on the alcohol for the sole reason that alcohol can be hard on your liver. You want your body's immunity to be at full force when attacking the infection. My theory is if your body is working hard at metabolizing fatty foods, alcohol, or any other substances that aren't "clean", then it's not going to be nearly as efficient when it comes to fighting ...
