Taking it for 3 yrs, back pain getting worse on 2 per day. The state is clamping down on opioids. What could my doctor prescribe for me at this point? ## Even with the clamp downs going on, your doctor can still prescribe necessary medications, they just have to be careful how much they prescribe and make sure there is a legitimate reason for the patient to need them. If the person has a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer, such restrictions set forth by the DEA, exclude them. Too many doctors were prescribing pain medications, without verifying that a patient had a real reason to need them. The tablet you've mentioned is the 5/325mg dosage, so if your doctor things it may help, there is a 7.5/325mg dose and a 10/325mg that they could prescribe for you. The FDA classifies...

I was given a different brand of hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325 by MFG AMNEAL, instead of my regular brand watson 10-325 I was told that my pharmacy wouldnt carry watson brand after the fact of giving me the new generic brand. Even though the label on my new brand states oval white tab.watson 853 not letting me prior of refilling my prescription. And I need to know if both brands are equally the same? I read most of people complain about this new MFG AMNEAL generic brand. I want the facts and truth about brands being the same. When i asked one of the pharmacist, she said, "watson my regular brand is the same as my new brand". But i would like an outsider professional opinion who doesnt work for my pharmacy. ## No not the same! Same thing happened to me, so I did my research! F...

Amneal manufactured, Hydrcodone- Apap 5-325 doesn't work as well as V 3604 or Watson 349. Any idea why? ## Hi Jane, I think I can help answer your question here. One of the primary factors that doesn't seem to be well known to the public, is that the FDA allows active ingredients in generic meds to vary by as much as 25% from the actual listed dosage. This could potentially mean that a 5mg hydrocodone may actually turn out to be 3 to 7 mgs depending on the manufacturer. Aside from that, subtle differences in the "inactive" ingredients (binders/fillers) could also impact the absorption/overall efficacy of the medication. Put two and two together and you pretty much have a different medication than what you may be used to taking. I hope this info helps! Have you tried any ...

Hello, I have been on Norco 10/325 for several years and Watson then Quailtest always worked great. I go to a small pharmacy and they can no longer order Quailtest. They had Tris till this year and I liked Tris also. They will let me pick from whatever they have and that is Amneal, Mallinckrodt, or Camber. The Camber made me sick. So what would you choose between Amneal and Mallinckrodt? I know the reviews aren't great for either on here, but do you prefer 1 over the other? They told me they could also order other generics if I let them know. Thanks for any suggestions. ## When I had to have my dental work done, I had good results with the product from both of those manufacturers, but to me, it did seem that the Mallinckrodt worked a little faster. I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Hello, Dano! How are you? There's no way to know which manufacturer's product your pharmacy will carry at any given time. You might be better served to talk to your doctor about trying a different medication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the po...

Just started using hydrocodone apap tab5mg-325. This first dose I took is 2 pills at 12 noon. The bottle instructions say you can take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. It is now 3:15 pm and it feels like the hydro pills, made by Amneal are just about finished. The pills I have been taking prior to this are oxycodone, Mallinckrodt, acetaminophen 5-325 and I take 1 pill every 6 hours. This is OXY condone, NOT HYDRO codone made by Amneal. Are they different strengths? The HYDRO seems weaker. Whats the difference between the two? And should they be interchangeable? ## It does require 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equal to the 5mg Oxycodone you were taking, because the Oxycodone is stronger. However, it may simply be that the Hydrocodone just doesn't work for you. Learn more Vicodin ...

I fell and damaged 6 disc in my spine. I had surgery on 2 disc and was given hydrocodone apap which was yellow with a V on one side and 3601 on the other side. I was later given the same prescription, but the pill was white and had IP 110 on it. The yellow stopped the pain with no side effects. The white makes me feel drugged and nauseous. What is the difference? I have also be give a 7.5 of the same medication. It is white with U02 on it. It makes me feel the same way as the white 10/325 does. Who are the manufacturers? Please help!!! ## Hello, Marie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you've had. I have experienced many generic brands, including Watson and Qualitest. My pharmacy just changed to the Amneal brand 10-325 hydrocodone/APAP. I am just not sure what to think about this. The pills have an IP on them. What have been the experiences of others taking this specific generic brand? ## Because these drugs can affect each individual differently, my opinion is that trial and error through one's own personal experience is the only way to accurately judge the efficacy of a specific tablet. On the other hand, I do get the sense that some brands/generics are manufactured with less quality inactive ingredients than others, potentially making them more prone to cause side effects or placebo-like responses from varying degrees of bioavailability. I haven't taken the Amneal bran...

I've seen Naproxen and have been told Vicodin has this imprint as well. Are Naproxen and Vicodin the same? ## Naproxen and Vicodin are two very different pain medications. To my understanding, the similarities found in the imprint are just a sign that they had been manufactured or redistributed by the same company (Amneal Pharmaceuticals). The IP 190 500 tablet contains Naproxen 500mg (NDC 65162-0190); a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Does this Amneal tablet have a side effect of changing my coumadin number if I take 1 pill at once, or 2 pills at once.? Am having trouble adjusting Warferin level. Intake hydrocodone/apap tab 5 mg-325 mg, Amneal, 1-2tabs every 6 hours. ## Along with the Hydrocodone, that APAP stands for Acetaminophen and it can have some slight blood thinning properties, so that may be causing some problems. My doctor has approved the name brand for generic Hydrocodone, but I cannot find a pharmacy that will even try to get a brand other than Mallinckrodt, Lupin, or Amneal; the generic brands that are sent to them. I was doing great when Watson had the yellow oblong 10/325 and am at my wits' end. I am in bad pain every day of my life. I don’t know how much longer I can take this pain. Not everyone with chronic pain is just a drug addict but we are all treated that way. Got to change soon or I can’t live this way. ## Have you tried any alternative opiates, since you can't find one of these that works for you? Some other choices are Hydromorphone, Oxycodone, Morphine, and Demerol. The FDA warns that they all carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects...

What is the difference between Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Tab AMNE and Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Tab QUAL ## The AMNE and the QUAL are both just abbreviations for the manufacturer of those particular tablets, so that's the only difference. I received what is believed to be an Amneal hydrocodone-acetaminophen 7.5mg/500mg white oblong caplet with no imprinted code on the tablet. Please advise. ## All manufactured medications in the U.S. are required to have unique imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency, under federal law. Thus, the only exceptions would be if you received a foreign medication that is not registered here, or if it was a compounded medication specially created for you, by your doctor's orders and done by a pharmacy that compounds medications. Standardly, the FDA made all companies do away with any combination prescription medications that contain more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose, so none are available in the 500mg dosage, unless they are specially made. The NIH also warns ...
