I was on amlodipine medicine for at least two and half years and I have gone through a real hell. It all started with dry cough. I thought like any other medicine the side effect will wear off, but it didn't. Then after a year later came back pain and it really got worse. I never thought that it was the side effect from this medicine. It went on for two and half years before I realized. I was running around town to get my back pain solved. I must have had more than 50 sessions of physio and chiro. I saw that I wasn't getting anywhere and I started doing some research on computer. I am a regular user of Stamlo beta and recently ankle pain has developed in my left toe. Further in recent blood tests creatinine serum value is also found 1.43mg/dl against max limit of 1.2mg/dl. I have been taking repace H and amlodipine to control HBP; one tab each nightly for the last 5 years. Being 56 years of age it lowers to 145/95 with the effect of loss of libido and ED. Should I change medication or dosage to lower it further? And what combination of medicine can I use to improve my libido? ## Loss of libido and ED can be side effects of most blood pressure and cardiac medications, according to the NIH. stopped 5mg. norvask & MY BP NORMAL 2 DAYS AFTER ## I have 90% of the symptoms listed and even the rare ones . I'm out of the medicine as of today and don't want to take it any more. ## I have been on Amlodipine for about 1 year. I started out taking 5mg but BP didn't come down, went up to 10 mg and started with the swelling of the feet ankles and legs, also had joint pain in my toes which made it hard to walk.
