I started taking amitriptyline HCL 10MG 5 years ago. I would now like to wean myself off of the pills. How to I decrease the dosage and how long will it take before I am free from any problems. However, the modern preferred method is usually to have a patient start to skip doses, while also gradually lowering how much they take. As listed by the FDA, possible withdrawal effects may include nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea, rebound depression and rebound anxiety. It's hard to say how long it will take to be free of issues, you've been on it for years, so it could take a month, or so. Blue round tablet. Does anyone know what makes up the blue coloring. I am allergic to yellow dye as it creates full body tremors. Good Day My 4 year old grandson was prescribe Trepiline ( 1 in the evening).
