Ambien Show As Benzo On A Drug Test

May 20-26 I was in the hospital taking Ambien, ativan and cymbalta. Once I left the hospital I took my ambien sparingly. The ativan even less and no cymbalta at all. However on June 16 I took 1/2 10MG of Ambien. I had a saliva drug test that next morning and it came back as THC, Amphedimines and opiates. How did this happen?? ## Ambien contains the active ingredient Zolpidem and neither it nor the Cymbalta, which contains Duloxetine, are substances tested for on those types of tests and they are also not known to cause false positives for anything else. The Ativan contains Lorazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine and it is also not known to cause false positives. Where you taking anything else? I take both meds 1 time a day. I have been on this medicine for two years. Can ambien and bractim cause a false pos test on a regular drug screen ## I was given a 12 panel drug test and I tested positive for Benzos...I currently take Ambien CR and oxycodone 10 mg. what can cause a false positive moth swab drug test for benzodiazapime ## Ambien and lunesta. Lunesta is actually a theobenzodiazopine, meaning it acts on two GABA receptors in you brain where benzodiazepines such a xanax hits all 4 gaba receptors. I live in US but if you research lunesta, they actually use it in Canada as an anti-anxiety med to be taken throughout the day. Ambien and Lunesta are the two most common for showing false positive results for benzodiazepine. So, they shouldn't register as anything, because they are not in the classes that are normally tested for, which include Benzodiazepines, Opiates and Amphetamines, among others. I took a urinalysis today and take Ambien. I am on some cardiac medications, synthroid, oxybutinin, and lipitor. The test came back positive. The other medications that I take are Tylenol #3 but I haven't taken for 3 or 4 months. Would the Ambien affect the outcome of the test: ## yes it would. I've failed drug tests for taking Ambien, as it shows up as a benzo. But if you have a prescription, you should be okay.

I AM A CRONIC PAIN PATIENT FOR 22 YEARS, WAS TECENTLY CUT OFF METHADONE, KLONIPIN, PERCACET, LYRICA, NEURONTIN, AMBIEN,ULTRAM AND ECT. I've noticed a-lot of poeple out there are asking about buspar, & false postives.. as well as it's relation to xanax (alprazalam). Let me start off by saying that my husband is prescribed 15mg. buspar (I believe 1 3x a day) along w/some other drugs from his pyschologist such as ambien, and depacote. I can state that I took his buspar during a horrible anxiety/panic attack (also known as busiprone) and I also need to mention I go to a methadone clinic. After taking the buspar, I went to clinic to take my usual drug-screen (also let me mention I was receiving takehomes, only going once every 2 weeks as I'd never failed a drug test), thinking nothing of it as I'd read they don't show up as anything. ambien is a benzo, I think it should show up ## It's NOT a benzo, it's a barbiturate. ## Ambien is NOT a Benzo. It will show up only if a specific urine test is done to look for it...it will not show up on a standard urine screen.

Most of the time people are expecting to buy to sell do they want to make money. You may think what you have is a $15 pill because it's 15mg but you will be lucky to only get $5 to $7 per pill. Some drugs will also not show up on a random urine drug test. Like ambien is a benzo-type drug but will not show up on a test. A special test called an ELISA test has to be done and other things like mdma can only be detected by doing a spinal tap. Point being! Research what you're doing because whether you like it or not they are all going to affect you somehow.
