How does everyone find the Extended Release (XR, ER) version of Adderall to work when compared to the Immediate Release (IR)? ## Adderall XR, maybe I got a bad generic but it's crap, it does not reveal in your system. I hate all XR meds they are awful. My doctor put me on reg Adderall and the quality is night and day, reg last 4 hours that's okay. I take another one, and get the same quality. The xr is weak and seems to last a shorter time than the IR. Everybody is different I know, and I'm no doctor, so take what your prescribed, and please do not abuse drugs, take it like its prescribed. It works trust me. I took over 400mg adderall within one hour. I crushed & ate all but 120mg Iputp in a syringe and did it rectally. Any suggestions... ## Go to the hospital.....why would you take so much in such a short period if time? ## Hello Myra, You absolutely should go to the ER and ensure that you are ok, not only are you taking a rather large dose but to administer it in a way that is not intended is absolutely dangerous. I have been taking Dexedrine (Dextroamphetamine Sulfate XR) for 3 years now and it has always looked the same: clear and dark brown manufactured by BARR, imprinted with the same and the numbers 956. Two months ago the medication I received was blue. I was stupid and didn't think twice about it only to be called by the pharmacy and told I had been given Adderall by mistake at the end of the month. The following month my medication was back to the usual clear and brown. This month I have been given blue pills again. They gave them to me in a bottle that says "Dextroamphetamine Sulf ER 15MG" as it should, they scratched out "BARR" and wrote "Global" on the manufacturer part. My local pharmacy filled my prescription for Adderall ER 30mg. with the ACTAVIS EL instead of the TEVA USA brand, and I noticed that things were drastically different. First, I noticed mild radiating warmth in the left side of my chest… but, we all know that’s fairly common. Hello, I was recently diagnosed with ADHD my doc prescribe me Ritalin the pharmacy gave me the genetic brand Methylphenidate 20mg ER (LA) caps Mfc Actavis. Hello All, I am not glad that you are having issues, but if am so glad that you post, because I am having the same issue with my 14 year old son. He was taking the blue and white 15 mg Amphetamine salts ER for Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. This is his very first time on the medication, IT WORKED! Well after the first 30 day prescription, good old CVS decided to take it upon themselves and change it to the orange pill, same miller grams, but the name on the bottle is Dextroamp-amphetamine ER. I was taking 15mg Adderall XR white and clear capsules with blue inside and they worked great for about 6-8 hours then I crashed. I asked my Dr. about it and he just said we would try it for another month. Ok, however, when I got my new prescription, it was generic. I never thought anything of it. My daughter has had very treatment with the prescription of dexedrine 15 mg extended release spansules for many years. Recently, a different pharmacy filled it for what turned out to be labeled as "dexedrine sulfate(salts)" and my daughter's behavior was worse. She has never tolerated adderall. That particular pharmacist said it is all the same. The other pharmacies say it isnt. Now, years later, at a pharmacy just purchased by the Kroger that supplied the adderal mix before, she has received spansules from corepharma that do not seem to match and the behavior is again intolerable. Can you take Morphine Sulfate ER 15mg with Adderall? I'm scared as hell!... I normally get 90 thirty milligram Adderall every month, but when I picked up my filled perception, they only gave me 60. Was the doctor or the pharmacy at fault, and can it be corrected? ## Have you tried asking the doctor, or pharmacy? If it was an error, it should be able to be corrected, but no one can say for sure, if they haven't read your prescription. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and anorexia. Did your doctor mention making any changes?

I've tried several different brands of adderall, and I find the pink round tabs with markings cor 136 on them are by far, the strongest version available. As far as side effects go, minor dry mouth, slight loss in appetite but not major weight loss, and the major side effect that I personally get, is increased libido. Like 100 Xs my normal, or regular libido. It ended a LTR I was in due to my constant, errrr... urges, I guess. But I'm not sure if the increased libido is such a bad thing. I actually enjoy it as it makes intimacy much, MUCH more pleasurable. I have been on Adderall XR 20mg once a day and my dr wrote it for 10mg twice daily; yet the pharmacist filled regular generic adderall xr; I know this because I compared those with a photo from Barr! I was taking brand name Adderall IR for about a year and found it to be very helpful. But since Teva/Barr/Duramed just changed the formula for brand name Adderall IR - and it's pretty awful - my pdoc switched me to Vyvanse. I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to Adderall XR instead (of Vyvanse)? Hi, Can someone please educate me on the differences between Adderall ER as opposed to Adderall XR? I had no idea there was an ER as well as an XR until yesterday. ## There is no difference.
