How are you? No, Metronidazole is an antibiotic and it's only effective at treating bacterial infections. It won't do anything to help with this type of irritation. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and diarrhea. You will most likely need to just give it some time for the irritation to ease, unless your doctor feels it requires treatment. Is there anything else I can help with?
