I started my son's antibiotic today at 10:30am. He is prescribed 1 Amoxicillin 250mg chewable tablet 3 times a day for 10 days. I was curious what are the times to give this to him today, also if I can change the time to 7:30am/3:30-45pm/8-9:30pm tomorrow? He starts back to school on monday morning and I would like to give it to him before school then after school and before bed daily for the remainder of the ten days. Would that be ok? ## Yes, unless the doctor specifically prescribed it as needing to be taken every 8 hours, then you can dose it this way, it doesn't have to be precise. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?...

Our Ped told us we could give our 11 month old (22lbs) 1tsp of Childrens Benadryl to help with her runny nose and cough. I grabbed the Allergy and Sinus one not thinking and now I'm wondering if that's still okay to give to her? ## @Rheiannon, According to the manufacturer, Children's Benadryl should not be given to children under 1 year of age for treating allergies. Reason they say this though is because it causes most babies to be too sleepy. Also for a child weighing 20-24 lbs they recommend 3/4 of a tsp. Personally I don't see a quarter of a tsp having THAT much more of an effect overall on the tiredness of the baby. But then again, everyone responds differently to these meds. However I wouldn't be overly concerned about giving this to your child since yours see......

many years ago I used a med that was like a caramel shaped square that was dark chocolate in color and it was chewable. I am looking to find out what it was and what was in it as it is the only med I have ever taken that controlled my diarrhea. I no the doctor told me it was no longer available back in 88 but am wondering if they have something similar to it now. ## Hi Maple, I did a bit of research online using the description you provided and found that certain brands (such as Imodium) do still make chewable Anti-diarrheal tablets known as Ez Chews. Apparently they're only available in "Cool Mint" flavor... however, this is the closest match I've been able to find. If there's anyone else who would be likely to know more details about the recent history of these typ......

All I can see on the back of the package is "relief 125 mg". Any idea what it may be? ## Did the labeling just get ripped off the bottle? Judging from the little bit you can see on the package, it's likely for pain relief, sinus relief, cold and flu relief, allergy relief, or some other over-the-counter medication. I could be wrong, but the imprint does not turn up under any of the U.S. prescription drug databases, leading me to this conclusion. If you're able to take the bottle over to your local pharmacy, I would think that they would have an idea of what it could be or what it actually is, since they come across bottles like this on a regular basis. I hope this helps! ## It's gas relief medication. I have a box of the stuff in front of me right now. ## Equate bran......
