Hello, i take tri-previfem. I have for a while now but last month I accidentally skipped my placibo pills and went straight to a new active pack. I skipped my period and now I'm on the sugar pills of this pack of birth control. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could calculate when my period may start. This is my second pack of triprevifem and I didnt skip my period last month. But right now im on my 2nd pack and week of placebos and I havent started. I was suposed to start monday and its tuesday. I might be pregnant but I hope not. Am I pregnant or is my period a little late? Is it normal to skip a period? ## Hello, Casi! How are you? I understand your concern and am happy to help! It is normal to sometimes skip your period, when taking oral contraceptives and is usually nothing to worry about, unless your doctor thinks otherwise. As long as you didn't miss any tablets, you aren't likely to be pregnant. But missed periods, irregular bleeding and spotting can all be side effects of hormonal contraceptives. My period started on September 27th, 2014. I took the tri-previfem pill today Monday,October 6th, 2014 and accidently skipped yesterday Sunday Oct. 5th. I started taking the first Monday pill today since I missed yesterday, which was Sunday. How should I take the pills now? Should I just take the remaining 1st weeks pills skipping yesterday's pill, which I have not taken and start on the 2nd week's pill starting this Sunday? Hi! I'm going to stop Tri-Previfem to level out my body in order to try to conceive in a few months. I've been on birth control pills (mostly this one and similar to it) for 17 years and I'm worried about what to expect. I'm fine with my period being a little whacky for a few months, but vainly I'm worried that my face will go crazy with acne. I have been taking this pills since May and I never threw up till two weeks ago. I started throwing up yellow stuff I have been very moody I have been having real bad headaches dizziness at times. What are the side effects of Tri Previfem? ## Hello, LadyV! How are you? Are you taking them on an empty stomach? If so, that could be what's causing the vomiting, the yellow stuff is likely just bile or a coloring agent in the pills. The other symptoms can be normal side effects of taking it, since it is a hormonal contraceptive. If they are that problematic you may need to speak to your doctor about trying a different one. I had one pill left in my pack of tri-sprintec that I took on Sunday but when I picked my new pack up on Monday they switched me to tri-previfem. Is it ok to take evn though I took a different brand Sunday? ## Yes, they are exactly the same, the Tri=Previfem is just a generic for the Tri-Sprintec. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. In past months if I accidentally missed a pill, I would double up the next day, but then would have violent pains and vomiting. This past month, I accidentally missed a pill and decided to avoid the extreme illness (since I was probably throwing up the dose anyway), and I skipped the one I missed and went on to the next one. I lost one pill (Tuesday) on the last week of active pills and just took the next days pill in replace of Tuesday's lost pill. I ended my active pills a day early and started taking the placebo pills on Saturday instead. I had intercourse on Saturday when I started the placebo pill. Did I need backup birth control when having intercourse? Should I take Plan B? I also plan on starting the new pack on this upcoming Saturday now. I'm on my second pack of the pills and I've been taking them everyday around the same time. I probably shouldn't let there be a time gap on weekends but I take them when I wake up, which is a few hours after my normal time during the week. Would that mess up the effectiveness of the pill? And when I first started taking them, I started my period and forgot to take the pill the first day but my mom told me to just take the first pill on the second day instead. It can help regulate periods for some women that take it, but it may take 3 months or so, before you will know if it will do that for you, or not. I have been on Sprintec until 11/2012 when I got pregnant. My daughter was born 9/2013 and I breastfed (on minipill) until 10/2014. I'm now on the first week of my second pack of Tri-previfem (subbed by pharmacy) and I am dying! I have severe vaginal dryness and itching. I am only 29 years old, so I'm not nearing menopause. Hi. I have been on Tri-Previfem for about 8 months now. My last pill in the 2nd week fell down the drain. I called my Pharmacist and he told me to take the last active pill in the pack (which would have been the Saturday pill in the 3rd week) and then Sunday start my 3rd week of pills and when I got to the Saturday pill that I had already taken just start my placebo pills. My question is do I need to use protection?? ## There is a slight risk of pregnancy, but only for the later week of your period, where you actually miss a pill. Hey! I started this last month on 4/25 and the first week was miserable. I take it in the morning with Zoloft. I had really bad nausea either early in the morning or an hour after I take my pill. I don't usually eat in the morning so maybe that could be the reason why I have felt so awful. I have puked on a bus last month about a day after starting the pill. I finally finished my first pack and I just started a new pack. This time the nausea is worse and I can't stop puking. Especially after trying to eat. I wonder if I just need to eat with the pill, start taking it at night or just stop it all together. Okay so I have searched high and low and even asked my pharmacist but I don't think they understood my question. I was on the implant for years and after bad side effects switched to the pill (tri-previfem). I went a month without any form of birth control between the two to let my body sort itself out and DID NOT have ANY intercourse, remained abstinent. My period started on Sunday and I started my BC pack day one, week one - 746 pill (white/greyish) - on that Sunday that I started. I've taken it for three days now and my period stopped, is that supposed to happen? Hello, I've been on Tri-Previfem for about 4 months now and have done a pretty good job of taking it consistently. I've never missed a day. 2 questions: 1. I try to take the pills at 1:30p daily. There are times where I'll take it as late as 3 depending on my lunch schedule. Will taking the pill at 3p cause it to lose its effectiveness? 2. Today is a Sunday and I'm supposed to start week 2 of my pill pack this week. I was careless yesterday (Saturday) and accidentally took the pill I was supposed to take today. I see on the pack that pill 1 has .18mg norgestimate, and week 2 has .215mg norgestimate.
